Default Passenger side hood not latching

I'm not sure why this is happening but the passenger side of my c6 isn't latching....when I close the hood the driver side "closes" but the passenger side feels like it's not "hooking"...I found a thread that said to move part of the latching mechanism, with a long screwdriver, to the "left" but they didn't provide any pictures so I'm not sure what they meant by it...anyone have any pictures or suggestions?

This is usually solved by an adjustment in the latch, attachment hook or both. Try the latch first by loosening the bolts holding it in place and shifting it into a better position. Close the hood slowly without latching it and look at an angle to see if you can see how it aligns. It may take several tries to get it right.

Thanks cadvette...when I do press down on the hood, it springs back up a little as if it's trying to latch, but nothing is actually "latching"

The first thing to try is adjusting the rubber stopppers on the top of the hood up or down. If the stopper is set too long, then the hood will not be able to seat into the latch properly.

I'm not sure if this will help, but here is also a PDF on the hood latch adjustment as well.

As a matter of fact I had this happen yesterday while washing and detailing mine, look where the cable pull attaches to the lock mechanism...mine was hung up by just a fraction of an inch on a wire loom armor...moved it out of the way and all was normal again!

I don't know what or if there is a preferred method to close the hood. I simply drop mine from about a 30 to 40 degree angle. It won't latch completely if it's a lot lower than that.

I agree you must have an adjustment issue if your's use to work fine, but just suddenly quit latching.

I just had the same problem with my '06. Adjusting the rubber bumper on the passenger side fixed it. Thanks!
