Default How to fit a square peg into a round hole

I'm an avid cyclist and am soooo glad all of my bikes fit in the trunk! What have you guys stuck in the trunk that may have seemed impossible at first?

But then you need to bring all the tools needed to put that bike back together ...

no tools needed to remove wheels. still have room for my duffle bag (helmet, pads, tools, camelback, lights, shoes, etc.) and this is the largest of my 3 bikes.

Don't have a picture, but carried a full roll of chain link fence in the rear of the 2005 coupe, even got the hatch closed. The two guys at Lowes that put it in the car thought I was crazy. It was the only vehicle I had at the time, so I carried what I needed in it.

With plenty of padding and bungees to keep the lid from bouncing, no problem.

To ocboy: Triple-y impressive.

Great job packing ... I'm not quite that talented.

You can carry alot of things in the back of a C-6 coupe. I actually saw a guy load 8 bags of mulch in a C-6 one day at Home Depot.

OK, that would be a definite no-no.

I recall seeing someone on this forum load what looked to be a half cord of firewood in his coupe. Craziest thing I've ever seen.

Menards, Home Depot, and Lowe's have rental trucks for $19.95 for the first 75 minutes. It takes less than 10 minutes to check one out. Shorter if you are already in their system. And you don't have to buy something at their store to use it. Well worth the 20 bucks to keep from scratching up or overloading your Corvette.

Our Lowes and Home Depot here do not have rental trucks. We don't have a Menards. Small city.

Another way to protect the trunk, though not as good as Weathertech, is to get a normal carpeted trunk mat like Lloyd's that has a rubber backing. If we are going to load something that might be dirty or damp into the trunk, we flip our Lloyd's mat over so only the rubber side gets messy.
After unloading, clean up the mat, dry, and flip back over to expose the normal carpet side.

I had my wife with me (not so fast fellas!), and we went to a restaurant to meet up with some friends, my buddies car started upchucking coolant right in the parking lot. Him and his girl friend didn't have a ride home... So I guess you can see where I'm going, this was in my c5 though lol.

The c6's trunk seems bigger, but I didn't really have time with her yet. Got her in September, but only drove the car up until a little bit in November, when the snow fall hit, I covered it and started driving a winter beater.

We got 4 people in a C5 for a very short drive, also the result of a car problem. The other couple were both somewhat thin and short but not midgets by any means.
The wife sat on my wife's lap in front, the husband crawled into the trunk (we removed the cover on that big center cubby for more hip room), I drove. Worked fine for me, not so comfortable for them.

We've also done the same thing in the C6 with our petite adult daughter a couple of times. First we used a stool for her to climb into the trunk, she decided it was actually easier to tilt the passenger seat forward and climb in from the front.

Two ceiling fans new in the boxes and a freestanding fireplace screen from Home Depot.

4 ZR1 sized tires but that required using the passenger seat as well.

Both times rear hatch in the closed position.

I've fit 1 bike using that method into my C6. I've fit my bike AND my gf's bike into the hatch area with seat down of my 98 Camaro.

I find that the 4th gen Camaros and C6 gen had an ample amount of usable space inside to go along with very decent power and mileage efficiency. Until I go beyond the 2 kids, this is my favorite combo of cars.
