Default Paint or wrap

So I want to get my roof and mirrors either painted or wrapped black. The price is similar within a hundred bucks. What should I do and why??

I would do wrap so you can easily change it back if you want.

At similar price points it is a no-brainer.

Paint.

Vinyl has to be replaced due to age and UV exposure. Additionally since you can't buff out vinyl for light scratches or scuffs repairs mean having it reqrapped at additional expense.

I would go with a wrap so you can change it back with little effort if you decide you don't like that look anymore!

All valid points. I am leaning towards the wrap for the fact that I can always go back. But in the end I do think that paint is more durable and looms better.

Had vinyl stripes and they showed marks where bugs and stuff rubbed them. Had to replace every year or 2.
Now have paint that can be polished and touched up.

If the price is close I opt for the paint, just better wear and looks.

Just gotta be sure if you want the change.

Exactly, the OEM matte vinyl stripes on my 2012 CE show every rub, mark and scuff. I've seriously considered pulling the vinyl and have the stripes reproduced using a matte clear.

Certain wraps/colors can be waxed or polished to remove marks in it.
Wrap IMO is the best way to go. Easily replaceable if u want another color etc.
If you do your own wrap. It will be A lot cheaper than paint !
I've changed my hood and roof and halo many times after being bored with the color.

You don't necessarily have to paint them if you redo them. On my CE I just covered them w matte expel the week I got the car. No issues at all thus far.

As for the original post- wrap it

Wrap - because it can always be undone simply when and if sold and if damaged it can be redone easily too - also acts as a protective layer!

Thanks,Matt

I'd vote for the wrap.

BTW, what color is your car?

When you say roof, I assume the painted removable top and the halo?

Are your windows tinted? If so, I'd suggest a gloss black vinyl vs. a flat black, as the gloss will match the windows.

Also, if you ever get the transparent top, it will match.

Good luck and post pics once it's completed.

Here's a current pick of my car. It's wrapped already with gloss black but there are some imperfections in it. I also have a scratch in my passenger mirror from the shipping company. I have decided to wrap the top and mirrors this week. I just hope the mirrors come out nice. I'll post more pics when done. Thanks for everyone's advice and opinions.
