C6 Z06 front license plate.....PATHETIC!

upon the recommendation from another forum member, i cut the plate a bit, folded the top piece back, and used command strips to velcro it to the top of lower bumper piece by the lower grill

Colorado is a 2 plate state. I've run my Vettes without front plates for years without a problem. Majority of cops have better things to do than stop people for front plates. Now if you're acting stupid, or they are looking for a reason to stop you (e.g. you're acting suspicious), then they may use it as a reason for a stop.

Sure am glad that Pa doesn't require front plates, the C6 was definitely not made for one

Just a heads up
NYS requires it, but enforcement is lax according to friends.
I've been running for three seasons with no front plate, cops don't care -- so far.
If I ever did have to put one on, I would use the mounts that go in the center. Putting the plate off to the side looks like some kid stuck it on with bubble gum.

Issue: I was stopped in a pretty remote area, out of the car and making a phone call. The sheriff was coming the other way and just wanted to make sure I wasn't broken or out of fuel.
Would a CO State Trooper have done the same (??). Honestly, I've never heard of anyone being bothered with this in my locale.

It's raining today and will rain off and on for the next several days -- that should wash the salt off and it's doubtful they will need to salt again this spring, so I just have to wait for the 6" of snow yet on the ground to melt and for things to dry out around here.

Has any one with a stock license plate frame tried to take it off? I live in CA now and it is required but in a few years will be retiring in AZ and they don't. Just wondering if I will be able to get it off.

If you do get pulled over again fir it just say you got a new grill and haven;t had a chance to put it back on yet but you will soon!! Then don't

Melting Slicks
While I was still in the military, I lived in a few states that required front license plates; never ran one and never had any issues. Fortunately, I've settled in Nevada which has an exception to the front plate law. If your vehicle was not designed for one you don't have to have one.

Thanks. I won't be able to get mine out for a couple of weeks yet, and where I live I rarely see troopers . . . so I may luck out.

My state requires front and rear plates but I have never had the front plate on my car since purchased in 2010. What's ironic is that NJ says you must have a front plate, but, when you buy a vehicle from a dealer, they only attach a flimsy "plate" to the rear of the vehicle until the dealer goes to the MVA to register the car/truck. Why the disparity; and, don't try the "it's only a temporary plate" explanation as the vehicle could break the law, etc. just as easily as a vehicle with 2 plates.

3 years going strong on the GF's car with no plate on front. She even got stopped and ticketed for having a air freshener tree hanging from the rear view mirror... and the officer did not say anything about the front plate sitting on the passenger side floor.
I was floored myself when I heard about that. Truth be told, they have better things to do than worry about making you put holes in your cars bumper. They are especially understanding when it comes to sports cars and the like.

I like this idea, surprised more forum members haven't explored this. Do you have any pics during the daytime and from a further distance? I'd like another view of how it looks. Thanks.
