Default Cable in glove box

Hi everyone,

Just got a C6 ZR1, there is this cable in the glove box. iPod? I don't know what it's for. Wondering if I could get an Auxillary Plug adapter for it?

Thanks for your help!

Definitely not OEM. Best bet is to try to contact the original owner to identify. Certainly could be for some personal device that was used in the vehicle.

I bought the car at a dealer, so I can't ask the previous owner.

I think I'll just take it to an audio place, but I wanted to ask you all first.

If you have any teenage relatives just ask them. Seriously, they will even be able to tell you what model ipod it is for.

Do you have an aftermarket radio?

It is the 30 pin used by the gen4 and earlier iphone/ipod. The item you pictured will work unless you have a case on your phone. With a case you will need one of this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not sure how many pins it is; had the Kenwood & the adapter installed a few years back and all I recall is that I needed the iPod adapter cable installed versus just the USB extension cable if I wanted to use an iPod...sorry

yes .....as long as it is an APPLE adapter as the knockoffs do not work , I used one on my ISIMPLE when I had it

what you will have to figure out is how to you access the input

is it thru XM2 menu or some other means ....

That looks exactly like the GM PAL cable that I had in my old 2008. The GM PAL tied in to the factory radio (i had factory NAV) and you accessed through the XM2 menu on the radio. Once you plug in an ipod or iphone, you can control it through the radio. It was pretty slick for 2008.

Thanks, I just need to get an adapter to go from that cable to my iPhone.
