I cannot imagine the problems...but, throw enough money at it and I'm sure it could happen.

Ask in the Tech section. You should get better responses.
Most of the people I've met at the track with powerglides don't daily drive them. That's not to say it couldn't or shouldn't be done. I'm curious if there would be overheating issues?

The only thing that would help your highway gas mileage is a high overall gear ratio (which a powerglide without an overdrive won't give you).
Another thing ... A powerglide does not have a lock-up converter like a stock 6L80E A6 automatic transmission has ... so forget about high gas mileage with a powergide.
Another thing ... Why the hell would you want a 2-speed automatic transmission in a daily driver Corvette? .... This ain't 1963
Silly question
.

Seriously, go ask in the Tech and FI section. You'll get much better responses and more info over there. This section is geared more towards appearance and General Corvette discussions.
While I can't comment on price, I know a number of guys making a lot of power with built A4s and still driving them regularly. That might be your just right option.
