Finally we get a recall

Finally we get a recall
Guys, Good news! If you have a problem with a gas smell and or had to replace the fuel pump, tank, or anything dealing with a smell/ leak GM has finally sent a recall/reimbursement sheet so you can get it fixed for free or get your money back for fixing it. I myself had a problem with my 2008 c6 corvette and it has my fuel pump, plus I had a hole in the tank but I had a 3 year ally major guard warranty and after 3-4 months of going dealer to dealer cause not too many peoples know how to work on vettes we finally got it fixed and was out of 600-700 dollars (without it it I probably would've been out of around 4000 dollars). Now I can get that 600 back too plus a 250 dollar GM card to do whatever with it cause of the trouble one dealer caused me. I have a post already of my problems when I was planning on selling my car for a mustang. So if u want to know the full story it's there. I didn't sell it and decided to get it fixed because it's nothing like owning a corvette best decision I made in a long time. So guys, get your vettes fixed and get them on the road

No issues here on my 2008, but I did get the letter.

It's not actually a recall. It's a bulletin which provides repairs to cars that have the fuel smell, and that fail a test performed at the dealer. A recall would replace the fuel pump whether or not the car experienced the fuel smell problem.
Since I have already had this problem, and had it repaired at the dealer, I am hoping to get a refund. I am still waiting for the letter to arrive.

Same here,
Seeing as I generally put around 3-4 thousand miles on my car each year this sounds like something that will happen to my car at the 10 yrs 1month mark...having experienced most of the known issues on my C4 and fixing them myself. It would be nice if GM would own up to their other design issues on the C6 as well, say the harmonic balancer, the oil pan seeping and the dreaded shifter linkage issue. I have not experienced these issues either, but having been on the forum for a while it seems that it is a matter of when they will happen and not if they will happen.

I had the issue on my XLR...and paid for that one out of pocket. Wish it would cover those too...same exact parts and issues.

So I have an 2008 smelled the fuel last summer. Went online saw the thread posted reported it at around 116k miles. Fast forward to yesterday I got my letter it states "10 years or 120k miles, whichever comes first." Moreover, as of today I'm at 1224-- is there any hope the dealer or GM will cover me?
