Default Lowering bolt seized up

I know this is another topic that has been beat to death but I can not get any of my lowering bolts to budge. I've soaked them for several days with multiple brand of penetrating oils and still I can not move them in either direction. The method I'm using to take the weight off the bolt is jacking one corner up of the car with my floor jack then sliding a jack stand underneath the spring and then dropping the car a little till I see a gap in the bushing and lower arm. Any special tools you guys have used to get any more leverage? I can only manage to get a 10mm wrench on it. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

You are putting a jackstand under the A-Arm and lowering the car a little. Seems to me without going out and looking at my car that would not relieve the pressure. I jacked the car up so I could get under it, then I used a bote jack under the spring and jacked it up and that pushed the spring away fron the lower arm.

No, the jack stand is under the spring. There is a gap between the control arm and the bushing of the lowering bolt. I'm pretty sure I've got it set up right to take the tension off the bolt. The issue is the bolt is seized up and I can't enough leverage with the little 10mm wrench to bust if lose. Am I wanting to see more or less threads above the spring to be lower?

Yes you have it right. It was just that in your original post you said the jack-stand was under the arm. I have heard some people say that heat will help, but you need to be careful. Next step is to try a good repair garage. They can put it on a lift and either get more leverage or even use an air wrench to get them loose.

Should the bolt have all the threads showing above the spring to be in the lowest setting or should I not be able to see threads above the spring?

I ran into the same problem when I tried to lower my vert. Tried penetrating oils, heat, and enough force to bend a Craftsman Professional combination wrench. The shop I took it to also bent their wrench. I ended up having to replace both springs.

To lower vehicle more threads should be visible above the spring by turning bolt CCW.

Mine was the same way. I ended up taking the spring out, used liquid wrench, a wire brush, and several heat and rapid cooling cycles.

There is almost no gap under the spring between the bushing and the spring. I'm guessing this is about as low as I can get the car with these bolts. There is a huge gap in between the top of the tire and the wheel well. Is my only option to go aftermarket or cut the bushing down?

That seems high. Mine are all lowered completely and bushings cut, I can hardly get a finger in between the fender and tire.

my lower bolts practically turn by hand when I lowered my '07 C6. When I added a front splitter, I raised the front back up (about half way) and again it was really easy to do.

I have heard (on here) that folks do have difficulty and that some have seized. Hope you do get that sorted out!

I don't remember the ground to fender height mine is at. when the front were lowered all the way, it was difficult to get a more than a finger between the fender and the tire - was hard to wash the under edge of the front fenders and really could not wash the wheel well at all. Now that it's raised up a little in the front, that is at least much easier.

the front plastic/rubber air dam used to rub on almost anything, now it really very rarely does, so it's amazing what a very small height difference in the front makes on that.

My '07 is 25&3/4 in the front and 27 in the rear. Both are lowered all the way and one bushing cur in the rear. I can just get 2 fingers in the front between the tire and body and just over 2 fingers in the rear.
