Default Aftermath of hitting a pothole

?s I have:

1) How do I describe my rims for selling?
2) Should I use only this forum FS? Would Craigslist be of any hope...
3) They are "after-market" and fit 2006 base ( 2 rears, 19 x 10 and 1 front 18 x 8.......is it necessary to detail the number of lugs and distance? I have no idea of the "offset"
4) I think it is a big problem that only (3) rims are usable......it has been suggested that I make the fourth--the ruined 1----a planter

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Nobody is likely to buy 3 rims unfortunately. If you are planning to change out all 4 to something else you may have to bite the bullet to buy 1 extra of the old ones to make a complete set.

No one seems to have any; House of Wheels (Bob) tells me the rims are "out of production". I don't even know whom to give them to I really hate to trash them.

My take is, incl. the fourth as a freebie---some wheels can be straightened inexpensively (by the next owner). As to description, pictures always, ALWAYS help in a sale. Also, say it's aftermarket, give diam,, width, and say if your stock tires fit them. Stock, not different size from original size tires. But you can see this thread and decide what to use to describe your wheels.

And, personally, craigslist was a washout and waste of time for me.

OK, I will take pics when the new ones come next week and these can be lined up in the sun They look good; its just that the one front one is wibbly wobbly and needs, besides the rim bead hammered, the rim "trued".....it does vibrate.

Maybe a long shot but list them all but willing to sell individually. Who knows, someone out there had a similar issue and needs one like you did. Good luck with it all.

Or, if you still have them come Christmas time, and when the thread comes up to give stuff away, post pics and sizes, tell everyone you will give them for the cost of shipping, and POOF! they will be gone, just like that.

I bought some 2013 C6 Starfish rims that I really like. Supposed to be like new, but one had pothole damage! And rather than get my money back and squeeze the guys neck, I took it to a place that specializes in fixing wheels. For $50 they put it back to factory tolerances. It did not need cosmetic work since the damage was on the back or inside of the rim. That would have been a lot more, $200 I think. Didn't know this type of place existed, but that's all they do and I don't live in any big city or even the outskirts of one. You should have no trouble finding a place that does it and if they are valuable, it would be worth doing. 3 rims aren't worth much unless it's a common rim that can be found. Usually if someone is selling one rim it's because it has at least some minor damage anyway.

Alot of people look for an extra set of rear wheels to put drag radials or track tires on. You could sell the rear pair.
