Anyone ever had luck putting a Z06/GS on a deck over trailer?
I think I've found the car I'm after and thought about towing it home instead of driving 2 cars. Problem is my trailer is designed with my Jeep in mind and not a vette. Curious if anyone has any ideas short of driving over blocks to keep it going. I'm worried about the break over angle of the car hitting the section where the dove meets the flat deck.
My trailer.
My trailer.

That's a really nice trailer and it looks like a very gentle breakover. If you need anything it might be just a couple of 2x4s to lift the rear before the middle of the car hits the middle breakover...but I doubt you will even need those. I had no problem getting my Vert onto an alignment rack that looked much more severe than that trailer and wasn't nearly as long. Chain down to the shipping holes in the frame.

I don't think it will make it. I think there is only about 4-5 inches below the splitter all the way back to the front tire. I think the splitter will hit before it meets the front tire. And I think the car will bottom out after the front wheel levels off on the trailer.
Better to just drive two cars instead of damaging your "new to you" vette on a trailer.

I'd be more concerned with high centering it.

Have you considered renting a trailer that you feel would do the job? That way you wouldn't need to drive two cars.

For the record... no way will a Corvette fit on my trailer. So now the process begins to figure out how to make it work so I can fit my Jeep and Corvette on the same trailer and go play.
The problem is the break over angle on the car. The dove has too much angle so you would get high centered pretty easy without using boards to get over the hump.

Suggestion:
I'm in Fabrication construction and we have to make patterns. What I would do is make you a wheel and rocker panel pattern of the car and see if it hits. that will give you a base line. You may need a 6 x 10 board to drive up on to make clearance. Just a suggestion. Even with my trailer we had to create board steps to make it clear. Hope this helps. I think you may have more of an angle than me. Trial and error. I own a C6 but my friend had a C5 and his rear end went out at the drag strip. So he used my trailer.

I have a PJ 8" superwide (low profile). It took a fair amount of research and measuring to make sure it would load our c6 z06 or other potential future cars. If you need more info on specs let me know. The basics are that it is a 32+2 gooseneck with XL ramps, 7k disc axles with load range G tires(slightly shorter than the standard tires). I still had to add ramp extensions plus put some 2x12 boards on the flat deck to clear the breakover of the 2ft dovetail. I also crank the front jacks all the way. If I could have went with a shorter trailer, I could have used a 6" frame for more clearance.
The C6Z06 is stock height with no additional aero...barely clears.
I would highly recommend selling your flat deck if you do plan to tow the car.

After losing sleep over the past few nights trying to figure it all out I decided to pick up a hydraulic dove trailer. 9ft of deck that I will still have to use race ramps on to load the vette. But I should be able to put the vette on the ramp and lift it up flat. Next is to figure out how to secure it to the trailer.

Got it today. Very well built trailer with many options that are crazy good. Whoever thought up a wireless remote to work the hydraulic dove needs an ice cream.

Last night we loaded up the Jeep and her Jeep. Plenty of room for both and the hydraulic dove didn't flinch an inch lifting the rear of her Jeep up in the air. It will be nice because I can get the front tires off the dove and onto the trailer so it isn't having to lift as much weight.

Big shout out to Fred at Reverse Logic. I've been dealing with him in getting the required race ramps needed to get the vette on the dove. He helped me understand what it took to properly get me up there. I also bought the pieces for the end that will allow me to use the race ramps as service ramps. Super excited about them.
They are scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
Another item I couldn't figure out is how to strap the car to the trailer deck. I talked in depth with the guys at Mac's and they suggested tire blocks. The problem is the rear setup where I need to secure a hook to the trailer deck. It is all wood. And I'm a bigger believer that the rear straps are way more important than the front should you get in an accident.
So I compromised and purchased axle straps with the really plush strap covers to go through the wheels. That stuff should be here Friday. So I can finally secure the car to the trailer this weekend.

Finally got it up there. Today I got my race ramps so I was quick to check the clearance and make sure the car clears them. They are great!! The end of the race ramp that the trailer deck sits on is removable. I also bought a section that goes in place to make these service ramps.
Everything lined up and ready to run it up the ramp. These ramps were built specifically for my trailer so the edge where the race ramp meets the trailer is an even transition. Very nice!
I get the front tires onto the flat deck so the hydraulic dove won't have to work as hard. Even though the deck is rated to pick up well over 2x the amount of weight of the car.
Hit the hydraulics and it is up on the deck and ready for transport.
Now I just need my Mac tie downs then I can weld up the D rings and we are ready to go.
