My Dad used to put clear plastic seat covers over his leather seats in his car so that the seats would look like new when he went to trade his car. So we never got to experience the nice leather but had to burn our legs on the plastic so the next guy could have nice leather seats.

I don't have a pic, but I went to Home Depot in my 05 coupe and bought a roll of chain link fence. The two guys that put it in the hatch thought I was crazy. It was pretty funny, but it worked. It was all I had at the time. Now, the Z06 just seems to sit in the garage most of the time. I drive it when I want to.

I agree! I buy my cars to drive them. I've had this one right at a year and put 14k miles on it. I typically drive about 30k miles a year.

I sold off three of my other cars when I bought the Vette as a daily driver. It reduced my insurance bill. My only cars are now my '09 Vette and my '69 Mustang convertible. I'm not making too many runs to Home Depot anymore.

I guess I could try that with the Targa top out of my coupe. When I had my '00 Camaro I'd take it to Home Depot all the time. Fold down the back seat and fold the passenger seat forward and you'd be amazed what you could get in there. Maybe even a girlfriend.

When I bought my C5 it had 68k miles; when I sold it three years later it had 108k.

When I bought my C6 this past January it had 28.5k miles; it now has over 32k miles.

Default ...hot car...

Daily driver. 16,000 miles since the day before Thanksgiving. Not as many miles a month as the first one, but lots of driving all the same. I bought her to drive her so that is what I do. Only now am I really appreciating what a well made machine she is.
Now I know why people aaaaah over a corvette. Kind of like the back up vocalists in Johnny Rivers' Seventh Son.

from Margaret and me.

Bought new and daily drive my 2008 c6 z51 that now has 99,666 miles as of last night...

This year I threw on a set of snow tires for the winter and it was even more capable than you could imagine....

My first corvette I sold was a garage queen with 26k miles after three and a half years....and that guy got a brand new corvette for half the price...

Next up was a bought new z06 sold with 65k miles,,,,and I'm digging using these cars for all they are worth...

The few dollars I lose on resale because I drive the car is nonsense...

Whatever the car sells for...so be it...

So far this 99k mile car bought new has been utterly reliable....

Great car....
