Default Npp blowing fuses

While driving my 2013 Coupe with NPP on the interstate at 75mph in 6th gear I noticed a drone, and realized that the NPP had fully opened. Upon checking I found that the fuse had blown, so I replaced it. Next time car was driven the fuse blew again.
Has anyone else had this problem?
My Chevy dealer wants to charge me $130 to diagnose the problem before he can tell me if this is covered under my GMPP Major Guard Plan.

When you first start the car, do the butterfly valves on the exhaust close now or does the fuse blow immediately? If not, does the fuse blow when you first go over 3000 RPMs and there is a command to open the valves?

If the fuse blows right away, I am guessing the module in the back of the car that controls the vacuum is the issue.

Here is a link with pictures and information on the solenoid. Post #10 outlines the same problem you are seeing and he replaced the solenoid module.

It's the car telling you it wants to breathe all the time. Don't suffocate it.

Had the same thing with my GS a few months ago. Dealer replaced the solenoid or controller, I am not sure which because they are so bad they didn't have the warranty paper work and never mailed it to me. I am pretty sure it was a bad solenoid. You can replace the solenoid fairly simply, do a search for NPP solenoid. I let the dealer do mine because it is still under the CPO warranty.

Pulled the fuse out as soon as I got my brand new 10' GS home from the dealer, over 5 years ago. You don't need no stinking fuse, my motto is "Loud and Proud" !!!

I totally agree with Don-Vette. My thinking was I had just bought the vette and it was certified, so I expected everything to work as it should. Especially since NPP was a $1500 option when the car was new. Also, I have a wife who didn't like the drone at interstate speeds and I want to take the car on fun trips in the mountains and stuff. If she isn't happy then I would be driving my Sequoia on those trips, not quite the same. So I got the NPP working and installed M2W so now everyone is Happy.

It sure does sound good with the NPP open all the time.

and you also don't need no stinking mild to wild either. Leave it open, let it breathe.

Dealer wants a diagnostic fee to see if your official GM extended warranty might cover an electrical problem. I'd call GM or try another dealer . . . that sounds a bit shady to me.

Why not? It's a factory system. No sniff test here in NY.

Hopefully, you got this fixed by now. If your car is blowing fuses, most likely the vacuum solenoid behind the taillights on the passenger side has failed. If you disconnect the solenoid and the fuse does not blow, replace the solenoid.

Had the same issue with my 2013 as well, it was the solenoid valve in the back and was covered under warranty.
