One day, I hit 95 mph on Hwy 85. I was slowing down but still around 80+ mph when I saw a CHiP coming up behind me. I had a moment of "uh-oh" but then he passed me with a big grin on his face.

Don't have that problem. Most roads in Oklahoma including the main ones inside cities are 40 and up. Of course, all of our roads tend to be straight compared to places like Cali, Colorado, NY, and all the other "fun" places with nice winding roads.

Thanks for the memories!
EVERY Corvette coming out of the factory for sale has to go through a water test booth. And the engine is running the whole time. If you do a search there are people who have had water come over the hood with no damage. But if you modify the car to suck air through the front rather than through the engine compartment, then you are asking for trouble if you get into deep water. or even as much rain s the factory test.
My car was the Laguna Blue C7 within those 75+ Corvettes doing the Rainbow Run in the rain this month. Its the only LB, so you can pick it out in the middle of the crowd in the photos and video.
And those are my pics with the panorama and the beaded blue roof that my buddy George posted. She sure looked pretty imitating a duck.
Sure, she needed a wash afterwards. Mostly her side skirts and *** end were dirty as heck. We don't show her though, so not TOO much work required afterwards.
And I can see both sides of the coin. Our friends really big on showing and trying to make 100 points, they need to detail with a Q-tip. I can see them not wanting to get this level of dirt in their cars.
We ourselves wouldn't run to the grocery store in her on a rainy day when we have other cars to choose from. She is generally pretty darn nicely cleaned when she hangs in our garage and no need to make her excessively dirty for something like that. On the other hand, if we've got plans to drive with friends, a little rain won't keep us away.
We like the twisty roads, which tend to have a bit of dirt, some fallen rocks on the edges, etc. She can do it. She just gets a quick rinseless bath after.
Cheers,
Suzy

Drifting
I drive mine in the rain all the time. I try not drive in the snow or when there is snow forecast. I would hate to be out and the snow accumulate and now my car turns into a snow plow

Forget the rain. Don't drive your vette in grasshopperville, like across highway 160 in Kansas in July. When we got to Trinidad, everyone was looking at the car. We thought they had never seen a corvette before. What they hadn't seen was 400 miles of grasshoppers plastered on the front of one. What a mess.

As far as rain goes, who wouldn't want a garage queen as opposed to some dd with grime in every nook and cranny?

I try to avoid rain but as long as there is no hail or big thunderstorms it gets driven. Keep it all slick with wax and most muck blows right off.
