Picked it up last weekend
Flew out to Phoenix with my brother and picked up this '13 GS 4LT.
Spent a day at the Grand Canyon.
I've got 2 problems with the car:
1) The NAV/stereo seems to lose power occasionally on starts. It will reset the clock time zone or change inputs. I have not had a chance to check it out yet. Is this something common? I suspect the battery connections need to be cleaned or maybe the battery is a little weak. Maybe add a big capacitor to the stereo power connection?
2) The steering column has what seems to me to be excessive axial play. It's got the electric adjustment but where ever it's set you can push/pull the wheel back and forth. Any ideas on fixing that?

Very nice car .
1) could easily be the battery. If it isn't relatively new probably should replace it.
2) I've noticed that play (minimal) on some cars. Mine doesn't seem to have it but if it is very minor, may just be a little slack in the mechanism.

Beautiful GS
If it's still under warranty, get it looked at for the steering wheel column play. You may need a new mechanism.
They may need to do a reflash on your Nav system to reset the issue. There is a TSB on this issue.
TSB 09-08-44-019 states that the condition may be caused by a radio-software timing anomaly. The title of the TSB is :intermittent Navigation or Radio Screen Blank after vehicle starts.
Radio Controls may not function-GM Updates Radio Audio Software using Disc. The GM Dealer Disc for the software update is PN 20906717 and was only shipped to dealers that requested it, so check to be sure your dealer has the disc at hand before you bring it in.
This info is in the April 2012 VETTE magazine.

Thanks for the compliments & info. I really like the color.
I put a voltmeter on the battery when I got home this evening. About 20 minutes after it was shut off it read 12.48 V which seems a little low. Since these are placed a long ways from the voltage regulator do they tend to have a little lower voltage? I think it's the original GM battery so probably just needs to be replaced. Ironically, the NAV/radio has not misbehaved since I got home to SC.
The steering end play bothers me a lot more. I measured it at about 1/4" but it seems like more when you're driving. Guess I should stop by our "better" Chevy dealer and talk to the service dept abut that. The base warranty is expired, don't suppose steering is considered part of the drive train!

The steering column play turned out to be two loose jam nuts. The radio was defective and replaced. It's all good.
