Default ZR1 rear spoiler question

I want to add a carbon fiber ZR1 rear spoiler to my 08 Atomic Orange Corvette. Just wanted to know if there were quality issues with some. Or if anyone knew the best one or place to get them.

I was looking on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2013-CH...JTA1Vm&vxp=mtr

Thanks,
Dave

Looks good.

Now you need to get a carbon fiber rear diffuser to finish it off.

Very easy, took some courage to drill the holes. Lol
I posted a thread with lots of pics. Can't do it now I'm at work on my phone. I'm sure others will chime in.

The one I was looking at appeared to use stock mounting locations and double sided tape?

For normal driving that should be fine but for really high speeds (100+) it should be bolted down.

Drilling extra holes is easy. You just have to be careful AND sure you won't ever want to go back.

Also, bolting down will reduce/eliminate possible gaps.

car will definitely see speeds over 100. May already have.

I cringe at the idea of drilling into my vette.

Default Definately bolt on

I just installed the factory painted ZR1 I purchased from my local dealer. You must drill it and it is not a big deal. Use blue painters tape on the bumper cover a dab of a contrast color acrylic paint on the end of each stud that needs holes, align in the 4 center holes already in the car mark by pressing down slightly remove and drill. I was done in 20 minutes. As we have seen in many gallery pictures throughout this forum the change is amazing.

Which ever one you choose cf or paint you will have a big smile every time you look at it. Good Luck
I have used 3m automotive attachment tape for many years and it is truly a great product. it has some limitations as it is foam tape. it is harder to get off if it fails than drilling 6 holes. my local dealer did not have the nuts for the spoiler but I have a Fastenal store by me and they had the floating washer 10mm nuts for 1/3 the price. my dealer actually sent me there.

You can also try RPI Designs. Also a bolt on and fits great. They also paint to match if you want to go that route.

C7 Carbon for me as well... A little bit a futsing with the install, but once I got it right (including drilling holes) the fit was good. Great looking spoiler for sure..

Mine is a color matched RPI.....and the Silver matched perfect. Although, I had a body shop put my spoiler on. Best $65 I ever spent.
Sometimes the brake light that's in the spoiler can be a bitch to get right.
Good luck with your spoiler. With such a pretty color as AO...I would go with car color.

Keep in mind, c7 carbon dooes offer an extended more agressive zr1 style spoiler. The extended version with their rear diffuser, SCARY. Im doing this, expect with the diffuser. Going to go with c7 as well.

What was frustrating with the install? I'm leaning that way, so any warnings will help.
