Default Dealership C6 - Negotiating Room

Just curious if you all think I would have some negotiating room with these cars. They're priced very competitively...but not sure if the first one has been taken care of the same way some of the cars on this forum have. For instance, a lot of brake rust...which I know happens.

2012 - Certified (48k)- Grand Sport w/ 2LT (nav, bluetooth, hud) 6AT- $34,943
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...6517/overview/

Location is TX, which I've heard some not so good things about dealerships down there...but could just be random occurrence.

Thinking of trying to start around $32k...only because they say it's going to auction soon, so maybe a bit more flexible as long as it's more than they would get there?? I don't know.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2012 - Used (47k) - Grand Sport 2 4LT 6MT - $38,971
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...8396/overview/
Inferno ORANGE! My all time favorite color. It's in WA state. Worth it to try to talk down in price and then ship?? Maybe starting negotiations around $35k?? It's loaded so I don't want to start too low and have them hang up on me.
These are the 2 dealer cars that have made the cut, the rest are private owned cars from this forum. Thanks in advance for any insight.
Avg trade in is 33k, clean trade-in is 35k so probably not a lot of room.
They are probably already selling close to their $ if they are about to dump it at auction.
Actually, if they are offering you full GM CPO warranty (5/100k) that is a pretty good deal. CPO car with those specs retail for $39k.
Brake rotor rust is a non-issue. Just shows the car was washed but that they did not blow the wheels dry.
Well, negotiations have started on the CPO 2LT. Going to want to keep reading through the threads on things that are good to get thrown in...although not sure some of it applies since it's CPO.
Do we have anyone near Frisco, TX on these forums? Lol. If I move forward with this, I'd be willing to pay someone to go to the dealership and just give her a once-over and maybe a quick test drive. Just food for thought.
My friend is right, these guys usually start with a 2K - 3K make up. Then start the slow drop until they can't sit on it anymore. Good luck, and post pics if you get her home.
I'd be all over the one in TX.
CPO, one owner, service records, in inventory for only 30 days or so, most likely enthusiast owned and traded for another vette, etc.
Another thread..."Dealer offer me $37k for my 2011 GS M6 with 22k miles. is this number about right?" Coupe, 6spd, 3LT.
Ya might try wayback over on the Hammy's thread. He lives in Mansfield, about 50 miles away.
Here's a 2011 for 36k with only 24k miles. Prices are coming down.
Can't look up the car fax so who knows.
Frisco is north of Dallas so little far for me to check out for you otherwise would have been happy to kick the tires.
I live in WA State and Chaplains is a Chevy dealership that has a fairly well-to-do clientele (North Bend is and is near some spendy real estate)...I would bet that it's a decent piece of "vettedom" they are offering. I usually offer 10% "off" so you're right there (of course shipping is a factor as well)....good luck sir
Doesn't look like they are far off auction price atm. Most of the 2012s and 2011s going across dealer auction are below 20k miles. Counting all the GS (z16) interior trim options, the volume is still low for 2016, about 21 cars in total. If the cars have less than 20k miles, they are in the $35k to $42k range. One 2012 GS 2LT with 100k miles still pulled in $30K. The closest comps are a couple of 2011 GS 3LTs with 50k & 55K miles going for $31.5k and $35K.
Winter is the time to buy Vettes. I have not been following prices at all, but in past years, March is when you see the price (and volume) start to go up at dealer auction. Spring and summer is when they have a much better chance of an uninformed buyer dropping in, looking for something fast. They can probably get close to what they are asking at auction, but there are no backside sales "opportunities" to take advantage of, when selling to another dealer.
Thanks I responded to your PM.
And thanks everyone for the advice. I might have to pull the trigger on this one if things look good after wayback takes a peek at it.
Ok wait, there's more!!! The one in TX doesn't seem to have NPP. Is that a huge issue? I do love the sound of a beast in the morning. I guess what I'm saying is...do you think it's still worth it and then maybe upgrade the exhaust later on?
I have heard a lot about drone issues and I don't like that at all. So definitely not a fan of too loud or the exhausts that have a lot of resonance and cause a ton of drone.
I can see if they'll send me the history on the VIN but will that really show me anything? I reached out to 2 PPI companies in that area. Waiting to hear back.
Yea, they do. And the one I'm looking at is a single owner with no accidents and good service records...but I guess that doesn't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Maybe I'm being paranoid. Would the dealership really service the vehicle and not annotate if say...the car had a blower on it??
I think that's probably their bottom dollar price unless they really raped the people who traded them in.
I'm going to try my hardest to track down the owner of the CGM one. See what I can dig up.
