Thoughts...2013 Coupe 1LT M6 41K $30.5 Dealer

I bought my13 GS 3lt with 12,000 miles for $44k two months ago. Chrome wheels, automatic, red calipers. Like em or not, that's $3k in extras on top of the 3lt. I think your price is too high.

Hi All,
However, when I inquired about maintenance, etc. they provided me their inspection report [honest dealer] which indicated that both the oil and brake fluids were changed because they were "dirty/contaminated." The 2 rear tires were also replaced due to dry rot.
Thanks.

As tires go we don't know how old the tires were when GM put them on at the factory. And don't know what the Tech was thinking we he saw them. They could have just put that down to help the owner get some new tires that looked suspicious to them.
I know we tend to over think things when spending this much money, but there's no way to tell until you actually see the car. Like it's been said the price is right, and if you pass it up without seeing it you may regret it. Good luck on your decision.
Ls3's are bulletproof. 4 hour one way is long drive. But I'd do it anyway.
Dirty oil happens in any car. If I see my oil is dirty, I change it lol.
As far as hydraulics, having the fluids replaced is a good idea anyway. That was a known problem for most GM cars. My 06 gto fluid would look dirty after a year. Then I would do the flush and fill. When I had my long tubes done at a shop, they showed me my GS had dirty fluid. And I saw it. The car had 7k miles at the time. I changed it. Looks good though still now at 10k miles.
You have warranty until 2018 youre good to go man. 30k is a good deal imo.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
My personal rule of thumb when I am looking for a used car is to not drive over 3 hours to look at one! It seems that if I ever did, I was disappointed.

Depending upon how the original owner drove the car, it's quite possible that the rear tires are original whereas the fronts most certainly are not. That could explain the dry rot on the rears only. The price sounds fine to me. I'd be most concerned with whether or not I'd be happy with a 1LT. Especially buying pre-owned (with their lower costs of admission), I wouldn't consider a C6 without HUD, heated seats, and navigation. And before I get pounced on by the masses, I'll point out that I owned my '05 C6 for nine years; the navigation isn't as great as newer systems but it works just fine IMO.
Update on the '13 coupe. I've tentatively purchased the Vette, pending my satisfactory review of the VIS report, satisfactory local Chevy dealership inspection [selling dealership will take car to Chevy dealership] and my satisfactory inspection/driving of the car which will not occur until later in the week [4 hours away]. Agreed to price is $30k [down from $30.9], plus NC tax and registration. Dealer/service dept. have satisfactorily resolved my prior concerns about the routine maintenance being performed...documented 7 oil/filter changes and no contamination of any fluids.
With the help of everyone here and my own car experience over many, many years I feel the necessary due diligence will be conducted to justify my purchase decision.
Thanks again to everyone's assistance. Will keep y'all updated.

I too got a great deal on a 1LT that was to good to pass up so......
The HUD, power passinger seat and lumbar conversion is easy ,
The heated seats are also easy but I am still trying to figure out the pin outs so I can use the factory heated seat switches
Along with adding the factory NAV unit this gets you close to a 3LT
I also installed NPP exhaust for good measure lol
Just need the Telescoping Steering column and I am done ....
Enjoy your new car !!!!

Take it; contaminated is dealer speak. If its been cycled alot, (ie, started/idled/turned off to park in/out garages) everyting from condensation to microscopic fuel can show up.
1LTs are great; no options/gremlins to go; lower weight; better MPG and less insurance
Black interior with new seats looks great v. rounded pre-'12 c5 style c6 seats
Make SURE ur ok with any clutch issues (chatter, rattle, shudder) thats the only thing to worry about with 35+K
I get offers on my '12 1LT all the time....

Regarding the clutch, will try to use my 50 years of driving manuals to confirm a good clutch pedal. Good reminder though...will have Chevy folks also check it...thanks.

Different strokes for different folks. I just bought a 2014 C7 and I specifically didn't want a Z51. All the cooling is great if you track the car. The C7 is my daily driver. I also didn't want a taunt suspension or 20" tires in the rear. Getting back to the OP I just think the price is high in a 1LT. It's probably the least desirable trim level too.

Nice choice, don't forget to post pictures. My cousin bought 13, 1LT and is happy has can be, and not having HUD doesn't mean anything to him has a must have item. Yes there nice, not something you need.

I personally prefer 1LT, I don't like bright lights coming from my dash...i.e. Nav and hud.
I don't like a lot of crap in my vette, I usually change things to my preference (suspension, wheels... Etc. BUT I do like the Z51 option for the brakes mostly. Everyone has their own taste, i don't think you'll regret buying the 1Lt. Hope you enjoy the car. 2013 is a good year model... Better seats Welcome to the Corvette family !!

Update: Deal was not completed through mutual agreement of both parties. I started to question the car's higher mileage v. year and also had the impression the dealer had another buyer. So the search continues for a base C6 coupe 2010+/M6. Thank you again to everyone who shared their thoughts/experience...found it extremely helpful.

Yeah I know. I can follow the thread. It's still a C6 which is a great car and he'll enjoy it. Good luck.
