Is Corvette good for a a daily drive?
I have never owned a Corvette before though I have driven one many times(thanks to family and friends!). I am now planning to buy a C6 but I am not sure whether it could be driven daily - I mean office and back and malls; that sort of thing. I would hate to drive another car while I own a Corvette so if you've been driving one regularly please tell me.

I drive mine daily and have been for the 2 years I have owned it. I will tell you it will be different in some respects to a normal car, you will need to be far more aware of what driveways you can and cannot get into, you need to be more careful of speed bump height and pot holes. You also need to keep in mind it will stop and accelerate much faster than most other cars on the road which can lead to issues with other drivers and their habits. All those things considered, I think you will enjoy the heck out of it.

Not just no, but hell no! Corvettes are made to sit in the garage with no more than 1000 miles per year!

Yes it's a daily driver. But I have a truck to use as well when I don't feel like shifting gears all day long in traffic.
I just enjoy going to a store and parking far away and some moron parks on my driver side so that I can't open my door all the way to get in. Everywhere else to park and you park next to me. Really????

It is the best and most fun DD i have ever had. Parked for the winter now and really miss the feel of it on the highways. Looking forward to April and getting it back on the road and warmer weather to get the top down.
Buy it and enjoy it.

It's the perfect DD. I drive mine exclusively from mid to end March straight through until the beginning of winter...and I'm in Toronto, Canada. Still driving it today actually but plan to store it over the weekend.
To and from work shouldn't be an issue. Going to malls and other public parking lots? That, yea...you'll be looking for the furthest empty spot on the lot.
Other than that, as others have said...learn to pay attention to driveways. Some are not as friendly as you've been used to in the past with other cars.

I live in the North, so I store my C6 in the winter. I do DD the car from April 1 to Nov.
I would not even think about driving it in the winter, snow, ice, salt and sand on the roads etc.
If I lived in a southern climate, my car engine would be due for a replacement due to being worn out.
I only drive it 7 months of the year, and I average 10-12K miles per year. I figure I'd be putting at least 20K a year if I drove it year round.
As other have noted, parking lot's, driveways and speed bumps need to be paid attention to, but you can't beat the fun and smile it puts on your face when your DD a C6.

Drove my C5 2 years and now my C6 1.5 years, in Indianapolis weather, year round. It's all I got. I've got main roads that get shoveled, so no problems. I actually pass quite a few 2 wheel drive pick-ups that don't get the traction that I do. When she's dirty, it's in the garage for tubby time. Just wouldn't want to drive anything else. I would like to get an older vette and do a 4x4 monster though. Lol

Been daily driving a C6 since 05. They make great DD with a few exceptions. Can't take more than 1 other person, can't haul big or dirty items and like others have mentioned have to watch out for road obstacles.
If you can live within it's limitations it is a great daily driver.
Go for it.

LOL....seems to be a lot of oxy - morons concerning this one....like "its a great daily driver, if you can put up with this...or that". I'm sure they will work for a daily driver, but as some have mentioned there are some "Limitations"...lOL. First and formost...how old are ya ? I'm over 60 and i'm not sure I would want it as a DD at this stage, depending on how much i'd have to drive of course. Lots a things to consider for it to be a DD. It ain't easy to get in and out of. Rides rough...(but of course some will dispute this)...regardless of what you read they will scrape a lot in front if your not careful. Then, how well do you want to take care of it ? You start parking close to stores and stuff in parking lots and it will get nailed by carts....etc...etc. They'll go in the snow.....but i wouldn't want to have to depend on it if theres more than 1/64 of an inch...LOL. Thats just a few things to think about....good luck.

With all miles I put on every year, I prefer luxury vs. sporty. My C6 vert is a summer weekend fun car only but there are many that DD them.
