Never too old to drive a Vette!
My wife and I were driving from Austin to Dallas on I-35N on Tuesday and came up on a silver C6. My wife was going to give the driver a thumps up but she ended up taking this picture instead. She had to be in her 80's. She was doing 75-80mph just like everyone else. There was a man on the passenger side that looked even older.

Melting Slicks
As a 70 year old, I don't see what's so funny about that pic. Actually, I've been kind of taken aback by the average age of my fellow Corvette owners. I joined a local club last year and I guess I just wanted to get some connections with the community and didn't do my due diligence in making my decision. First, it cost me four times as much to join as the Mustang club I also joined up with. (I own a '69 Mustang convertible). Secondly, there are very few members in this large club that are not over the age of 60. It's like being part of a rolling retirement community. The social coordinator is constantly sending out e-mails reporting the condition of members who are either in a hospital or a coma. It's depressing. Beyond that, the club is more about "events" like parties than about the cars. The only exception is the hierarchy of who owns a C7 vs. the balance of the rabble. I don't think there's a single car show on the club calendar. Me thinks I will not be renewing my membership.

I have learned that any club is only as good as its members.

Pictures of "old men" driving Corvettes are a dime a dozen. Old women? Not so much (I'm NOT talking about you, Mrs. Ow -- yer young )
