Default 2013 LS3 oil sump.

Looking at a Grand Sport with an automatic trans. Thought they all were dry sump. On further investigation I see autos are wet sump. No question. Thanks

I thought these came with the dry sump like the Z06?
Battery is mounted under the hood in place of the dry sump tank.
Is this correct?
Thank you
Dry sump only comes with a manual transmission.

The 13 with an auto trans still is a great car. I've had mine 2 1/2 years & its been a trouble free pleasure to own.

Only the GS coupe 6 speed has a dry sump, and the LS3 motors with a dry sump were hand built at the Performance Build Center in Wixom.

You only need the dry sump if you are going to do serious autocross or road racing. I have a 2013 Grand Sport with the auto and I've ripped the Dragon, Cherohala, and Blood Mountain lots of times. The GS performed flawlessly.

I don't think you'll regret it-- the 2013 GS is a great car.

Enjoy it!
