Abrasions on the seat

Abrasions on the seat
For lack of a better description I have what I call a group of abrasions on the seat belt side of my drivers seat. These appeared after the car was serviced, however I have no way for proofing that.
I took it to a regular automotive upholstery shop. I owner told me that he could only “replace the panel.” He recommended I take the car to a leather restoration shop.
Took it to the restoration shop. The guy told me he could fix it. That fix lasted about 3 days. Took it back, he fixed it again and told me it was “normal wear and tear” of this seat and there is nothing more he could do. Also, he would charge me again if I asked he to fix it again.
I find it hard to believe that this is “normal wear and tear” the car only has 9K miles on it and is 3 years old.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what is the best fix? Has anyone replaced the panel?
For some reason the photos posted sideways.
Thanks,

That is the upper seat cover, and it isn't very expensive to buy a replacement, and it isn't very difficult to remove and replace. It can be done with the seat in the car, but does require a staple gun to finish the lower trim at the back of the seat. I would contact your favorite GM parts seller and look at the price to get a new one and make it like new again.

The bolsters is vinyl, not leather. If you were to remove the seat cover you would find inadequate padding in the "wear" areas. It is caused by rubbing friction entering and exiting the car. It happens to many vehicles that have sporty seats and sit low.
GM will cover this wear if your still in the 3 year 36K mile warranty period.
If not, your only option may be to replace the bolster part of the seat. If you do go with new, put extra padding over the bolster frame shard (wing).

I put Coverking seat covers on my car before this would happen to protect the original materials. After looking at a lot of Vettes before I bought mine I discovered this is a common issue. It's surprising how thin the original material is. Before I bought covers I went to a local upholstery shop to have seat covers made. They told me they don't make seat covers, but said they fix Vette seats all the time. They just replace the section needed that is worn at a reasonable price.

Melting Slicks
Its from metal riveted button snap of Techs rear pants-pocket OR broken button
Its gouged your seat
Started to happen on my seat and I leave rear pocket button in pants unbuttoned (ie, not in loop, button covered with pocet fabric)
