sure a torch will do many things however a Z06 & NPP are two different animals, similar but different. What is the inlet and outlet dimension on your existing muffler and if it is 2.5" why not get an NPP the same size. I believe the Z06 is 3" but I'm sure someone will jump right in here if I have misstated.

Base and GS cars including those equipped with the optional (NPP) bi-modal mufflers are 2.5".
All Z cars come standard with a 3" exhaust and the corresponding 3" bi-modal mufflers.
A better bet is to install the full Z exhaust on your GS. It's a straight bolt on and will give you 8-15 hp at the rear wheels with no tune.
If you still only want to install the Z mufflers then yes, with some cutting, hacking, and 2.5" to 3" adapters it can be done.
