Any Grand Sport Issues to know about?
I'm interested in purchasing a 2011 Grand Sport 3LT and wanted to see if there were any specific things I should be looking for?
I have owned 3 C6s previously (1 coupe and 2 Z06s) so I am pretty familiar with the car. I know it is probably going to have a creaky roof panel, etc... Are there any unique problems with the LS3?
Any feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

I bought my 10' GS new,all I had done is an alignment and a lower transmission cooler line. Use a battery tender and start saving for tires is my advice. I'm running hankook ventus evo2's, high performance summer tire with great wet traction and long wear (over 8,000 miles, still look new)

I have a 2011 2LT MN6 Grand Sport couple (dry sump LS3) with NPP exhaust, and I have had about 70k of trouble free fun miles, so you should be fine too
All C6 vettes had the headlight recall for low beam, all C6 manual vettes got a clutch slave cylinder letter(mixed reviews, there's threads out here about it), and some of the C6 vettes (LS2, LS3 and LS7) have had harmonic balancer issues (threads about it too). Other than minor one off issues, they are bullet proof
I have LG super pro headers, high flow cats, 3" X pipe and a tune, otherwise the stock setup. Runs and sounds great.
Normal maintenance is all it takes to keep them running well. I just put new tires on mine, now getting ready to replace the coolant fluid, brake fluid, new brake pads and rotors during the Thanksgiving week. Still on the original battery, but watching it over the winter.
You should ask for maintenance records, because a 2011 will be needing some things done to it maintenance wise, but nothing major.

Air bag connector under driver seat is all I have had. Oh, and headlight cable recall.

Thank you guys for the information. Just one follow-up question though.
Should the inside color of the headlights match the body color? The vehicle I am interested in is Torch Red but the color inside the headlight lenses appears white or silver. Could it have come stock like this or do you think someone replaced them and tried to get creative. I demand the car be 100% stock and I don't know if this was a potential option on the Grand Sports in 2011.

If you don't have the car handy to look at the glove box codes, Based on the Vin #, any dealer can run a free VIS Report that will show you ton's of info including all the options of the car including if it came with the silver/white headlight buckets.

Dont know your budget but I think the 12/13 C6s had some minor upgrades compared to the 2011's. I think things like improved seats, better Bose stereo, USB input and others started in 2012. 13s also have 60th anniversary logos all over. Might be worth it to get a year or two newer than 2011 if that stuff is important to you and the money works. Good luck.

Great info guys. Thank you! I am going to check the car out tomorrow. From the sounds of it the car is probably stock. Which is what I figured from looking at the photos and the CARFAX on it.

Unless this is an A6 or vert and your Coupe was a M6 or LS2, You've already experienced every part of a GS except the fender badge. That's not to say that all parts are good, because everything is subject to failure.
Best of luck to you on the purchase and getting back into the Vette world again.

I'm not a wrench nut but from what I've experienced and read about the LS3, it seems that it is the epitome of Chevy engines, solid, reliable and hauls the mail quite well. If you care to mod it like some here have the results are spectacular.

I have a 13GS MN6 with 12,500 on it now. I'm still on the original tires but will replace them next summer. I'm no a fan of taking long trips on tires that are near the end of their life (tread wise). No problems, just keep up with the maintenance and enjoy it. And the inside of my headlights are the same color as the car (purchased new).

I actually went and checked it out this afternoon. That is exactly what it was and it looked hideous. I told the dealer that would need to be addressed if we were to make a deal. He told me no problem. So we are in negotiations now.

No issues with my 2012 with 15k miles on it. The C6 GS is absolutely the best looking Corvette of all time.
