I have used JB Weld on everything. They make different types. Maybe worth a try.

I would cut a piece of thin sheet metal the same dimensions of the inside of the hook, maybe 2 inches? I would bend it around a dowel to get the same size curve, then JB Weld it to the hook. It will then be all metal that the glove box hangs from.

Same problem, as OP
Note latch not centered in lid and to much weight will cause it to sag. The "striker wire" the piece the lid latch hooks to was bent. A bit of careful bending got it back to shape.
This wire is part of Dash and not sold seperate. "Screw the pooch" and have to find wire and bend another your self or find a S.Y piece.
Luck....P.S. only personal service tablet kept in box now.

Heel & Toe
I finally fixed mine. So i assume from the factory that there are 4 bolts that hold the "Latch wire" to the dash. Mine had two and they were screwed into the outside holes. I moved them to the inside holes which then prevented it from flexing as much and that resolved the issue. STUPID F$cking design, middle finger to who ever took the other screws out and shame on me for not figuring this out sooner.
