Default Someone keyed my decklid...

Title says it all. Almost a 2ft long keyed gash deep into what was a near perfectly cared for Lemans Blue 05 C6 Z51.

The culprit apparently was on a keying spree downtown and my car was the last one and parked in front of a restaurant. The patrons told the staff and followed him until police arrested him.

To add insult to this, I had just picked up the car on Wednesday as a replacement for my recently written off 05 Torch Red Z51. That story is a bit more mundane, lane changed into a lane under construction during a heavy black cloud type of rain storm at the speed limit no less and encountered a giant puddle of water. Hydroplaned and smashed into the center concrete barrier at around 60 mph. The irony is that I was lane changing to the right lane to go to a rest stop because of the heavy rain.

12 stitches, mild concussion, broken ribs. blah

I think I need to lie down now. A few years ago on labor day I spun a rod bearing.

So pissed...

It's deep...

Sorry to hear about the keying. I have to wonder what motivates a person to do something like that ... I don't see how it could possibly be enjoyable. Can it be easily repaired?

Crap that sucks. Hope they throw the book at him.

Good luck with the repair. I know this is depressing but it will be fixed. We all share your pain.

Cowardly thug low life going nowhere punk.

How about restitution to the offended, maybe what the repairs cost by doing yard work or home repairs for the victim.

Probably would not be practical but a I wonder if the humiliation would have a desired effect.

Second thought the perp would come back with a gun, the coward he is.

Get the deck repainted amd move on.

Oh I would press charges too.

The sad part about all this was I was still reeling from the loss of the other car. I'm 5 weeks into physio and still have at least 2 weeks of it remaining. I'm supposed to be re-starting hockey for the season and not close to playing form due to the accident.

I found this car which was everything the original car was but blue, glass roof and 20k less mileage. Then 4 days later, its vandalized on my first weekend of having it.

Don't dwell on it your recovering from injury. This is nothing in the scheme of things. Just get it fixed and move on. Everybody has these little speed bumps to contend with. I lost my car for 2 mos. in April on my first day out. while inconvenient its not the end of the world. hope your recovery is complete and your scoring goals sometime soon

Totally suxs. Nothing you can do about it. I Allready know the offender won't be able to pay you back and nothing will happen to him in court. Only justice would be to be able to beat the crap out of him. It's your property not his and he hs no right to damage it. Our court systems are a joke.

Good luck with everything and best wishes. We will never be able to fix stupid.

Sorry to hear that, I also wonder why someone would do something like that to another person they don't even know.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. the reflection is the wife's image lol. Poor girl was with me when I crashed the other vette. We were both lucky to walk from that with me taking the worst of it. I'm getting it repainted next week so should be good. Only have to contend with brake squeal and glass roof noise which some carbotechs will fix shortly.

My 67 Camaro was keyed down the entire left side plus across the trunk lid over 40 years ago so I know the pain.
