Default Elbow Rests for the door panel - thumbs up or down?

I am considering adding some "elbow rests" for my door panels. There appears to be three options/vendors. I am leaning towards the ones that wrap a bit, and are stitched.

Any experiences, opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I use two small pillows on road trips. I can easily orient them in the most comfortable position.

I just bought some from a forum member (DS Vettes). They're nice, but the arm rest for the driver's side is much shorter than the one on the passenger side. I mention that because when you're actually driving with your left elbow on that pad, very little of your elbow actually sits on the pad (if you still keep a couple of the fingers of your left hand on the wheel. If you have your whole arm on the pad, still very little of the pad is use.

As far as comfort, I would have thought there would have been more padding in these. The other thing that I find negative is the difference in height of the remaining part of the door panel. If you're resting your left arm on the pad, since your wrist and hand extend beyond the pad, they have to angle down off the pad onto the lower level of the door panel. It's rather odd.

Would I buy them again? Yes, as they add a hint of 'luxury' to the interior. They look good, and in my opinion complete the look. I just wish they had more padding.

Have been thinking about ordering them for looks only; I've seen them installed on a few Vettes and think they look good (IMO).

i have the ones that you are considering and I love them. I am tall and with the seat all of the way back I don't have airmed2's problem, my elbow sits right in the center of the pad while my hand is at 9 o'clock on the wheel.

Check your normal position and see where your elbow sits. My guess is that it is all about your seat position and arm length, and that we will all be different.

FWIW I also got the cushioned console lid and love the extra comfort for my elbows.

Yeah, I am kinda short. 5' 6". Being taller would add to the pads usefulness.

I pulled off my factory 3LT's out of my 2013 GS and replaced with APSis and I am very happy with the results. Worth the money IMHO.

I like those. Who or where did you purchase from? How are they held in place, Velcro or 2 sided adhesive tape? Are they holding well? I have a similar interior and think I'd like to get a pair.

I have identified three different products:

1. http://www.corvettemods.com/C6-Corve...ed_p_5514.html (about $119 on sale)

2. http://apsisusa.com/Leather%20Wrap/C...0on%20line.htm (about $190)

3. http://www.fullthrottlecorvette.com/...go_p_1925.html (about $100 with the logos, $85 without)

For reasons of cost I am leaning to the first option, although the APSIS do look terrific.

Thoughts/opinions?

I tend to agree. Lots of variations on option #2 but pricey.
( Having problems displaying all pix ) I like logo on option 3
but wonder if it would wear out.

I wouldn't be without them. Both the door armrests and the OE center console armrest (or cover) are too hard on the elbows. These are, I believe, the DSVettes versions. They were a little pricey (don't remember exactly), but definitely better quality.

With the cashmere interior, I tried to trim it with some black pieces on the doors to add some accent.

They are very comfortable and suit my arm position to the steering wheel fine.

Good luck with your decision and choice.

I ordered the Corvette Mods (1st) ones and they shipped today. Will get here early next week and I'll post pics of them installed.

Thanks for the shout out Carvin! We have three aftermarket options for C6s that we manufacture ourselves in house from our Performance Choice division. You can check them out here:

I can't speak for the others, but ours require no modifications and install with automotive grade double-sided adhesive!
