Winter driver

Dodge Ram Quad 4x4 sport, since when the snow flies, couldn't get the vet even out of the neighborhood if I tried without getting stuck (too many inclined streets in and out to the major roads, plus since they use CC/gravel on streets after snows, don't want to take the chance of having the paint gravel/CC blasted as well). If the road do get dry/clean in the winter time and the temp gets upwards of 50, might take it out for the day in the winter time, then a quick wash down to remove any CC before parking it again in the garage.
Truth is, the Vet is more of a summer fun extra type car, and the truck sees just about as much drive time in the summers as well.
Need to go shopping with a shop close/vet will never warm up when drive a few blocks, or don't want to chance the droids of the world banging the hell of it with their car doors even when parked in the north 40 of the parking lot, just take the truck instead.
Bluntly, the Vet is just another toy in my adult toy box, and nothing more than that (does not define me). Mood strikes me, and I may take it out. If it sits parked for months in the the garage instead, so be it, and not the end of the world either.
Hence, don't be this guy,

I drive it in the summer if I need the extra room or seating, and take it to work if it is raining. Since I work across the river from the Cheerios Factory and they eject a crap ton of salty sugar out of the stacks. To keep it off the vette I put a outdoor car cover on it at work. At least we have a secure fenced lot.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
The Vette is more fun to drive in the Winter, since you don't need the top on to keep cool.
30 years in rain and snow country and 44 in never-ending dry sunshine. Since the move, I avoid the cold as much as possible, so Winter beaters are not needed.

Here in Philly we get snow but not a ton. Maybe 5 or 6 falls a year. I plan on daily driving my C6 throughout the Winter but am going to start looking for a cheap beater car come October. If I can find an old truck or something with 200k miles that runs and that I can pick up for like 1500 bucks, I'll buy that and fix it up so I have something I can use just when it snows.

Years ago, like 40. My winter beater was a 67 big block convertible. My 73 was brand new and I didn't want to wreck it driving it in a snow storm. But you have to remember a 67 was at least a 6 year old car that I only paid $1,500 for. The 73 was $6,500.

my daily driver is a 2010 Yukon denali. Its a bit much for a daily driver but a few months ago I purchased it on short notice. Love the truck but regret it. I have it listed for sale locally here and if it sells I want something cheaper. My eyes are on a new f-150 as they are leasing so cheap right now

My daily is a 2015 Subaru Forester. We don't get snow very often, but when we do the all-wheel drive Forester doesn't even know it's there. It's a great car and I've put almost 15000 miles on it since I bought it in June 2014.
I drive the Vette more in the warm months than the winter, but that's primarily because of the summer tires (squirrelly below 40F, which is almost every day here in the winter) and frequent rains in the winter. The Forester is safer then. The Vette has turned into more of a summer pleasure craft now.
