Not To Brag...........But
This month's Corvette Magazine (their "100th and best issue") illustrates one example on the front of what they consider to be the "best" representative of each generation and for the C6, they chose.....a Red GS Convertible....wait, I'll go check my garage...yep THE SAME.....

A very long time ago, when I was a kid, I was always excited to see a Corvette. They were C1 back then. The lady near my house had a red one with the white coves. That was the car I wanted. Then the C2 came out. The dealer in my small town had a silver one and a blue one that year (only two that I can remember). Where was the red one? Didn't they know the color a Corvette was supposed to be?
Color is a preference, and I always thought that I would one day have a red one. Well, not too many years ago I started the search. I searched and searched for a decent deal on the red convertible. Well, I settled for metallic navy blue. Weeks later, I see the exact car I had been looking for. Too late. The NMB convertible really was a beautiful car, but it was not red.
Well, I sold the vert thinking I had passed through the Corvette phase of life. And then spring came. This time, nothing but red was going to do. So, I like red and not many have told me that it is an odd color for a sports car.
With all that said, I still find all the colors on Corvettes to be good. Every color (except maybe that purple a few years back) can look really sharp, especially in the right setting. In fact, if I have another Corvette in my future, I'll try another color just to make sure it looks different than this one.
Nice they picked the car the OP has. It's fun when something like that happens.

Also, let it be noted that the "Best Example of Each Generation" does not wear black wheels on the C6.

ps - also glad I opted for a 6spd coupe with the hand built motor and dry sump!
