Default How I fix my lumbar support on LT3 2012 that was uncomfortable

The seat

Pull back down see how crooked the bladder is

Bought some plastic push inserts from Lowe's

Drilled some small holes, be careful on depths, installed plastic push plugs, straighten bladder

Piece of foam from fabric store, 1/4 or 1/2 inch your choice

Cut to size and notch for clips

Put seat back back up feels great, simple fix for uncomfortable seat

Interesting. I didn't know the seat insert just 'pulls down'. Nice write up and photos. Simple and worth a try

I think the biggest problem with the seat was that the bladder was in crooked causing the discomfort, but the foam insert sure made it feel more comfortable

I didn't know the center of the seat came out like that either. Even if you don't have the lumbar bladder, it could be a good way of cleaning the seats well and applying leather conditioner. And adding foam might not be a bad idea either if what you have has worn out.

Anybody know if the 2013 2LT seats work the same way? I don't have the lumbar seats and after a long ride my lower back is very sore.

Are you sure? I have a 2010 2LT and mine has the lumbar bladder.

What made you suspect the bladder was loose or crooked as the case may be?? Or did you just start taking it apart and found it like that??
Thanks

Seating for long rides,it just did not feel comfortable, it felt it was not pressing on my lumbar as it should, I also owns a Cadillac with lumbar support and it was such a nicer seat . I did take the Corvette back to the dealership and they told me it was working as it should, I don't think they knew what they were doing

I can't quite see from the photo exactly what you did with the clips to stabilize the bladder.
Are the going in from the backside of the plastic backing into the small holes in the bladder bag, then trimmed off?

If you don't have the lumbar bag maybe you could pull the seat back and sandwich an appropriate piece of foam in there to provide relief.

I too felt the lumbar bladder was too high and not hitting the right part of my back. When I saw this post I folded down the center of the seat and saw that the bladder hangs on a tab. I removed it from the tab and let it drop to the low point of the seat back. I folded the center section back up and tried it out. The bladder is now in the perfect location for me.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Before seeing them I assumed I was going to have to pull the seat to address this.
