Default Grand Sport , First time burnout

I am usually posting in the C4 section. Some of you may have seen my repair videos on Youtube. Well this time the video involves some fun with a friend who owns a C6 '13 Grand Sport. With some guidance I coached him on getting the rear tires to break free from the asphalt. Enjoying the beautiful sound of tire squeal and exhaust notes. This was Ed's very FIRST burnout he has ever done in his life at the age of 68! Every man should do a burnout by at least age 70. Let me know what you guys think. Take it easy - Ozz

So what did the driver think of that?

Gotta teach him how to take control after a second-gear spin.

I see you're in Delaware. There's nothing better than ice training since you can learn how to control a car at slow speeds on ice so by summer, everything will be second nature.

was that 1st or 2nd gear and did he brake to get started ? I've been dying to try it myself. Thought of putting a little water down first so as not to stress the running gear. Has anyone done that before ?

You won't need any water....that's a sports car your driving....get the revs up a little bit and let it rippppp! - Ozz

And for a great burnout (A6), don't forget to turn off the traction control ...

The only problem is that sometimes you may bump the rev limiter if the wheels spin up too fast.

Well at least you found a good open space to experiment in.

Did loads of burnouts myself back in the 60's.

My best was 160 feet in my moms 390 Ford Country Squire. Stand on the brake and rev it up and let loose.

I hit 4th gear hard at 90 plus mph in my 65 tri power GTO and broke the rear axle. Ya I got some tire chirp too....last time I abused a car. Never have chirped the tires in my LS3 with 4:10's, at least on dry pavement. I push it some in the mountains but learned my lesson on spinning tires.

Me too, that wasn't a burnout. It's kinda hard to do a real burnout with an A6 anyway.
