What happened to the Corvette Wave?

No we don't. and now you can't say a C7 driver never waved.
Today (in the Stingray) the C4 drivers were oblivious. No waves even though if I had swerved a few inches to the left we would have collided. One of them even had a death grip on the wheel and a grimace on her face.

I have also noticed not as many people wave as they use to..I think it's because there are more people now that buy the cars and just drive them, without knowing other Corvette owners , also some own them as a statis symbol only .. Belonging to the forum and associating with other owners gives us a sense of kinship, and we wave because we're part of a group of Corvette owners sharing their passion for the cars.. A lot of people don't have that connection, and don't even know about the wave.....WW

I always wave, but not all wave back. I'm a traditionalist.

Melting Slicks
Drove the Vette in the mountains a week ago, saw and waved to 5 or 6 but never got a wave back. Took my bike out yesterday, more or less same area, gave and got dozens of waves. I'm about ready go give up on waving to Vettes.

The only thing I get to wave at this time of year is my car cover in the garage. We had some warm temps over the weekend so we lost about a foot of the 30 inches of snow on the ground. May 1st seems like a lifetime away

I don't wave at my car when it sits idle in the garage waiting for the snow to melt either.
But I still wave at other Corvettes, even from the seat of my "lowly" C4. Hell, as a (former) Japanese bike owner, I even used to wave at Harleys -- and sometimes they'd wave back lol
Sometimes traditions need a boost to be remembered. If those of us who remember the wave get put out that others don't wave, then the tradition will die. Will the world lose anything of great value? Maybe not for the masses, but the Corvette world will lose out.
Save the wave
