Default My Friday night

I'm 19 and this is what my night consists of! Just spend the last 4 1/2 hours detailing and cleaning my Beast! Who needs parties when I've got a party of around 500horse power under my hood
I'm adding my go pro mount on in a minute I'll post a picture

armor all is the WORST. I have the same shop-vac. I hate when sometimes I go to lift it and the lid/motor seperates from the bottom piece

Thank you guys! And yeah I'm waiting for some new stuff from DFT to arrive for detailing! Heard its products are great! I worked 5 extremely hard years for the vette! It's a 2008 with a bunch of external upgrades i just put my go pro on it!

Go Pro mounted to rear glass....why? Just wondering. I have dash cams mounted, but don't understand the rear glass idea. Does it face forward?

Mine was a '54 Chevy 2-speed Power Glide. Literally, it was check the gas and fill with oil.

Hell, at 19 I was sitting on a tin can in Japan, hoping the Laos deal didn't escalate and they would extend me. Luckily I was a short timer when Vietnam broke, they went ahead and discharged me, flew from Japan to San Fran for an honorable.
Then I bought a custom used TR6 Triumph motor, the rest is history.
A CORVETTE AT 19!!!!! One lucky young guy. Good luck with it!!

I also had a TR6 when I was 18, loved that car and wish I still had it but, just like back then, I'd rather have a C3 Vette by a mile. OP, nice ride, and try Aerospace 303 instead of that Armoral crap.

19 is a great time to be enjoying a vette as long as you are not stupid about it.

I got my first vette when I was 17 and still in high school. Back in the early 60's most vettes were driven by guys under 25 and it was rare to see anyone over 30 driving one. Amongst the guys I hung out with there were at least 6 of us that were driving a vette. You could buy a pretty nice low mile vette around 5 years old for between $500 and $1,000.

I am now on my 25th vette and been driving them for over 50 years and still brings a smile to me today every time I drive one of mine just the same as it did back then.

This photo was taken on a Saturday afternoon in the spring of 1963 of myself and 3 friends after washing our cars to cruise the drive in and we were 18 and 19 years old at the time.

When I was 19, I was in college, so I was still under my parent's 'financial control' per say. My old man made for damn sure I wasn't driving anything better than he had. I had one of those types of dads. The type that was really cheap and always yelled at ya.

I drove a piece of crap 1970s chevy with a frame that was rusting through. In fact, the chrome bumper even fell down off of it and it had to be bolted and welded to the trunk to keep in place. The very last day before getting rid of it, it spit hot green anti-freeze from the heater-core through the vents inside the car at me when I shut it off.

You're my hero, lol. I've said for years that I was born in the wrong decade (early 80's)...

I bought my first vette at 15. It was "3/4" of a '77 I bought for $3k (2 years of mowing many neighborhood lawns) with a toasted motor. For the motor nerds: a piece of connecting rod had been driven through the side of block by a counter balance. Spent the next 2 years replacing the motor and various other components as I could afford them (guided by pa dukes - a past owner of '65, '73 and '76 vettes), and was devastated when I missed getting it on the road for my 17th birthday/DL by 6 months. On number 2 now.

That's a beautiful machine Schvvenke, just respect it. I made it through my early driving years in a high HP vette, but certainly had my share of REALLY close calls both on and off the track. Stay humble and you can have a lot of fun AND do it for a long time.

Enjoy that good looking C6. Respect the power and always drive defensively.

I bought my first vette at 19 also. It was a 69 with a 350 that was bored blocked and blueprinted to a 390. 4 speed Muncie with a Hurst shifter and 4:11 rear end. Loved that car.

I have very fond memories of that car. Hope you will too.
