Default C6 New Car Strange Sickness?

Hey everyone,

I'm getting the weirdest seasickness thing from driving my new C6. Just now I got back from a fairly spirited 30-40 minute drive and was feeling "alright" and then walked to the restaurant where I was going to have a drink but got super light headed and tingly teeth.

I drove to the Dallas Galleria earlier, and got a good wiff of the interior and got a little stomach sick... my windows were open with the A/C on waiting to get out of a parking garage

Has this ever happened to y'all? This isn't my first new car or even my first C6, but never experienced this before. I've driven older and newer quicker faster cars, never had an issue. Gasoline runs through my families blood.

I'm fine otherwise... think I just have to get used to it compared to my C5?

Thanks,
Travis

Yea, that came with the light headedness. I don't get any kind of sick really, not even allergies. Love rollercoasters/carnival rides, etc.

Not so sure it's the car drive itself, but the smells lol

Maybe your car interior is outgassing something that you are sensitive to? Are passengers having problems, too?

I've only had the car a day, haven't had any passengers yet.

My C5 used to be my daily driver and it was a manual.

It may very well be the interior gassing off that is giving you the issues you are experiencing.

Back in 1958 when I was 7 years old my folks purchased a new Chevrolet and I would get sick from the order the interior gave off.
Folks too me to the doctor and the car back to the dealer trying to find out what was going on, but to no avail all determined it was the vinyl interior.
It took several years for the order to die down before I could ride in it with the windows rolled up.

Maybe the previous owner used it as a portable meth bakery.

The tingling in your teeth; I'm guessing loud noise. Does your car have catless headers by chance? That would explain the teeth and no cats might explain the nausea.

Nope, quiet, basically new, only ~4k miles, unmodified.

I got light headed on my walk out of the parking garage and into the restaurant.

Hopefully it'll pass. I'm banking on the automatic sickness to be honest... I've always loved new car smell

Maybe carbon monoxide?

I know the car is new but never know. You can't smell or taste carbon monoxide so you wouldn't know.

The light headedness would explain that part. Not sure.

I hate to alarm you but all this may not have anything to do with the car at all. You didn't state your age, but these symptoms should be checked with your doctor.

I'm 26 - only happens after driving the C6, only owned the car a day, coming from a manual C5, which I still own and doesn't give me the same symptoms.

Then my vote goes for outgassing or an exhaust leak into the interior.

How would y'all recommend testing that? 4500 miles on the car.

When I traded my C5 for the C6, I liked it so much I drove the C6 around just about all day long.

I didn't feel "sick" but my back and neck hurt from getting used to new seating I guess..

Someone suggested I take some dramamine and see if that helps. If it does, it's nothing dangerous - just gotta get used to the car itself.

So strange though, like I said, I've got an iron stomach.

Except that time I decided to go on carnival rides hungover... BAD idea.

If you have a Carbon Monoxide detector in your house just remove it start and run your car on the driveway with the windows up and down and the detector inside to test the air. You would be outside the car
