I'd have the exhaust system checked over really good. Sounds like you're getting carbon monoxide poisoning.

So I have a thread going on in the C5 forum too, and they mentioned something kinda obvious...

Sure, carbon monxide is odorless and all that jazz... but it's still exhaust.

And I don't smell no exhaust.

Are you saying you think the automatic transmission is making you physically sick?

I'm saying the sensation could possibly be making me slightly nauseous. I don't feel like I'm going to throw up, but let's be real - it's like 450hp of unpredictable - sometimes ****** - shifts lol, especially in [D], and coming from a very predictable, less powerful, manual transmission... I can see the possibility.

I'll be testing that theory more using the paddle shifters. It's only been a day or two, we'll see.

Sit in the car for a while without starting it and see if you still get sick.

Apparently nobody understood my point, which is this: Depending on the outcome, doing the above will rule out CO gas.

That's what it sounds like to me.

Get your exhaust system checked.

Right, but wouldn't I smell all the exhaust fumes? It's not like CO gets in the car and nothing else, right?

More curious than anything

From Experience; if you got light headed when you got out of the car, stood up , then walked into a restaurant because you were hungry; I'd seriously check my blood pressure and my sugar levels. It has the sound of low blood sugar. Have the your doctor run an A1C test. I get that way sometimes and that's my cause. Age does not matter ! I'd also check for carbon monoxide. On another note, it's interesting how medical issues can affect your teeth and how tooth and gum diseases can affect your health. I'm having more tooth and gum problems since I started with diabetes.

Maybe deep breaths are the problem

Good thing I wasn't hungry, I was just going to meet up with some friends for a cocktail. I've have regular checkups and I probably drink too much coffee, but I think I've got a fairly balanced diet and come out pretty clean from the doctors. And again, seems kinda strange to me that I can be 100% fine, to a drive, to feeling crappy.

I'll def have the car checked out, and definitely try some dremamine too, just in case it is automatic transmission sickness or something along those lines.

On a different vein I'd make sure the windshield isn't wavy or distorted.

Don't ever try to drive on Dramamine---it will leave you as impaired as driving drunk. Your reaction times will be much slower.

Wrong.

You can still get carbon monoxide poisoning even if you don't smell "exhaust".

Same thing in your house. That's why you put carbon monoxide detectors in the basement and what not. Because you don't just smell stuff in the basement and look for carbon monoxide, it's odorless and you can die from that stuff.

Check CO poisoning. I doubt these are the symptoms. I suggest doing a few deep knee bends to see if that makes you dizzy. If so, it's the bp as others have suggested. Else, check the exhaust system.

CO was the first thing I thought of too. But it could be merely coincidental with driving the C6 ... tell your doctor what you posted here and get checked out. Could be symptoms of either CO, or something possibly serious. Doesn't matter what your age is.

In all honesty it sounds like a little nervous anxiety, which is normal, I've expirienced before.

I experienced the same feeling as a passenger in my '05. The mechanic was trying to duplicate the acceleration hesitation by accelerating quickly, stopping, and doing the same in reverse, several times. in my case it was motion sickness, plain and simple. No, I didn't barf, but i felt dizzy and a little "green".

I know the car is new but never know. You can't smell or taste carbon monoxide so you wouldn't know.

The light headedness would explain that part. Not sure.
I like a firm ride because I don't get seasick. My opinion is exhaust leak or a (guess) air condition leak.

If you find out keep us posted ..
