GS Fender Stripes - What is correct?
Hi Guys - I am looking at a 2010 GS that has fender stripes on both front fenders. Usually you see the stripes on one fender only. Just wondering which is more more correct - one fender or two?
I know I can take them off - just wondering.
Thanks

When you order a Grand Sport with Heritage Package from Bowling Green, the factory installs the hash marks on both fenders.
That should tell you that both fenders is correct.

Still deciding on this, to keep the added red or not. One day I like, the next not so much, but both fenders have the stripes as stated.
NSF PS before you go stripping them off just know that factory stripes cost about $400 un-installed, they have the small Corvette sign in the upper corner

Personally I like it.
It's one of those small, understated touches that adds a little class.
I'm thinkin' that would look pretty good on mine, because of the red touches on the fender badge, calipers, and wheel hub cover.

Yo Bob, where did you get the red vinyl stripe material? It appears to be about 3/8" wide, am I right? On second thought, it looks more like 1/4"

They are 1/4" and a match to the pins on the hash marks, they come from, DRUM ROLL PLEASE, AutoZone by Prostripe, red of course
I agree with you about looking good on your car, sort of tie things together, subtlety, things that don't jump out at you but you do notice something is there huh? Glad you likey
Anyway, that's it, good luck, post a pic or two.

It looked right so I bought it.
I figured for $3.99, 1/4" x 40', how wrong could I go.
Now I get home, and see your post, and it appears I got the exact same product. It looks like this...
I'll install it tomorrow, and post a photo for you on the Hammy's Bar & Grill thread. I think it will look good, thanks!

The PO on my (soon to be) GS either removed the hash marks or opted to not have the dealer install. (I have the Heritage package). Although expensive, I'm considering putting them back, but is there some measurement or template to use to determine accurate placement?

The factory stripes come packaged sandwiched in between two pieces of cardboard. When you open them the stripes are mounted onto a stiff piece of thin cardboard with a blue film on the top. The stripes are mounted to the template you use to line it up.

The OEM stripes use an automotive painting process, including the application of a clear coat. OEM stripes will last the life of the car without fading/degrading. The ones that cost $20?....not so much.
This is a case of getting what you pay for.
