H1, Quite a long time ago my Mom and Dad took me to the "Graveyard" at Davis Monthan while we were there on a vacation. You can not even imagine the size of that place. Many of our favorite planes standing in lines like ghosts from the past. Others wait to be sliced into smaller pieces to be sent to foundrys to be made into new aircraft. Acres and acres of relics that dot our memories of old war stories right out of the movies. It was both sad and exhilarating at the same time.

I have been to the Aviation Boneyard and the Pima Air Museum many times. The boneyard is now packed with A-10's among others. The Air Museum is a great place to see historical aircraft.

Hopefully 🇺🇸 will have what it takes during the next WW, just throw their cost @ our national debt: www.usdebtclock.org

The 🇮🇷 🇮🇱 weekend 💥 show seems to push WWIII a bit closer.

We did both of those places during our visits to AZ.
Highly recommend them.

Ruxy, Our local Air National Guard Base (Selfridge ANG) currently has A-10 Warthogs and KC-135s. Not a lot of either one but still a presence. There is rumor that it will receive a wing of the new Boeing tanker but we've heard that before. Usually a wing of F-35s. Time will tell and I'll probably be long gone from this earth before anything actually takes place.

Supposed to be turkey hunting but we closed on the son's house Friday and I have been working to get some small, immediate things done that need it. Supposed to rain tomorrow, Wednesday I get the Vette dash fixed, Thursday rain again. May still try to go Thursday and stay a few days. I ran my tail off all day and am beat.

Curious about the taste of wild turkey. One of the guys in the neighborhood had a couple coming into his yard and he was able to trap, pluck, and eat one (I have no idea when turkey season might be here and he doesn't either, nor does he care). He said the meat was nasty. Perhaps their desert diet does not add to the flavor.

I know how this wild turkey tastes...

It's similar to domestic turkey, but tougher in my experience. The legs aren't good for much except soup. Wild turkeys like to run, and the drumsticks are full of tendons. I generally breast them out, cut into strips, lightly bread, and fry them up like chicken.

I have a buddy who liked Wild Turkey 101 in his younger years. Until he got violently sick on it. He can't stand even the smell of it any more.

Up at 3:45 this morning.

D-Day to get the dash fixed.

I'll leave this slightly amusing tidbit here for everyone's enjoyment:

I believe those are Torque Thrust "Ds" From American Racing. They were the choice for those that had a lot of cash as they cost a pretty penny back in the day. Chrysler painted all steel wheels the car's body color. Now, that said, I'm talking Chryslers, big Dodges and Plymouths. All the "C" bodies. I had no contact with the smaller cars at the time. If not painted body color they would have been black. At one time the Avis Car Rental company had all their fleet from Chrysler equiped with orange painted spare wheels. They felt it would cut down on the theft of spare tires.
