Back in 1956 my family was headed to Brazil as my Mom and Dad were to be missionaries in the outback of Brazil preaching the Gospel and bringing modern farming techniques to those trying to make a living out of the tropical soils. On our way down we took the steamship Argentina which had been built in 29 and had served as a troop ship during WWII along with its sister ships the Brazil and the Uruguay. They were owned by the Moore-McCormack lines and had freight and passengers on board. An all new Argentina was commissioned in 1958 and the old ships were held in storage until they were eventually scrapped in the early 60's. I was 6 at the time and remember we had a small cabin but it had a porthole.... most the time was spent on deck and at ports of call in the Bahamas and other places. It was not the boat that Waymore showed a picture of... although I think it had a small pool and I remember Dad shooting clay pigeons off the back deck with other men..... one dining room.... and an event when we crossed over the equator.... just random thoughts about boats....

Back in 1967 I was lucky (?) enough to get two free cruises to many exotic ports of call...Pear Harbor, several ports in Japan, Hong Kong, and Subic Bay (home to Olongopo aka **** city)...just random thoughts about boats...

Yea, as RKJ mentioned, I made a trip to KC to have a short visit with the kids/grands, and a nephew rents one of the dugout suites for a KC Royals game. Last one was April 2020, so you know what happened to that one. It has taken him this long (4 years) to get it rescheduled. I had already paid my share back in 2020 so Saturday night we got our time. Being that close to the field is awesome. You get much better idea how fast things move. I'm a Royals fan from way back. Win or lose (mostly lose these last few years), so this is a real treat for me.

Getting tired of waking up at 3:30-4:30. This morning the wife woke me up, and it wasn't for the right reason. She rolled around in bed, pulling covers around, for at least 5 minutes. So I'm up and out of bed.
I'm finally getting around to fixing the delaminated dash on the Centennial. Found a local shop to do it. We discussed the two preferred methods. He said he has no real preference and believes he can fix it correctly either way, so windshield removal it is. Even though I think odds of a permanent fix are better with dash removal, you then open up the opportunity for BSR (buzz, squeak, rattle for those of you who aren't familiar with the term). The shop owner is in his mid-late 30s and seems pretty sharp; I guess I will find out. The appointment is on April 17th.
Does anybody want to help a guy out and do the tax return for my son's Trust? That's my fun day today. I have to do it via a paper return, because you have to have Turbotax Business for a Trust and it's probably not worth paying for the software for a pretty simple return. We just established it in 2023 with some funds his grandfather left him.

Plus 4 state returns (I don’t live in any of those states ).
Thank goodness I’m not doing returns anymore.

The wife's K-1 for our return has taxes paid in roughly 26 states; Edward Jones does business in all 50 states, other US territories, DC, and Canada. I have to file for credit with the state of MO for those taxes paid. It's a pain in the ***. More complications next year with the addition of the house for the son, so we will be looking for a good tax person who is familiar with the Edward Jones K-1. Two we tried here in town didn't know their *** from a hole in the ground and were expensive. I figure we will have to go to St. Louis, where Edward Jones is headquartered, to find a decent one.

Bad - Do you have any pictures to share of how your 4LT dash looks currently. 🤔

GM really went cheap in applying these leather dashes. Watching a great video on YouTube about a year ago, by this guy who makes very good informational videos, when he removed his dash, I was amazed at two things. One, the glue was applied like you would squirt mustard on a hamburger from a squeeze bottle — not thorough coverage by any stretch. Two, absolutely no staples were used along the edges. When he fixed it, he covered the whole part of the dash that the leather would be attached to with glue/adhesive, and stapled the edges down. Very interesting to watch but beyond my ability level.
Good luck with yours, it should get fixed up nicely. It just trips my trigger that these dashes fail like this.
