Thoughts on 07 Vette?
Hello everyone,
Looking to purchase my first Vette and I'm pretty excited. I had my father take a look at this 2007 Vette, and would like an overall opinion on this purchase.
Its an 07 as I said, pretty much stock everything. Has a short shifter, body is clear of any dents, small chips on the front bumper..typical though. Paint has a little bit of swirling, but I'm sure a nice detail would bring it back to life. Car appears that is maintained very well.
Tires are on the wear bars, the top makes a squeaking/rattling noise, and the headlight shrouds are getting sun cracked. I offered $21,000, and he counter offered that he would go no lower than $23,000.
KBB states $22k for a very good condition, but just wanted y'alls opinions on this.
Thank you very much for the help! I appreciate it.

How many miles? Seems too me like its a fair offer. The headlight can be found on here used for a good price. The squeeky roof could be fixed with an O ring (it fixed mine). As long as its not black the swirl marks will come out. Not saying you cant get them out of black but when you do they come back most of the time. Tires arent cheap for these cars. Some pics will help the experts on here. Good luck

My father took a few photos today when he took a look at the car. If you're able at all to swing by and take a look at the car Rux I would truly appreciate it.

It's not in bad condition, but its not "very good" condition, either. Mechanically, it could be in great shape, but there are enough cosmetic issues to keep the price where you are looking to buy it for... $21k. If he wants $23k, let him keep it awhile longer.

IMO, check under that steering whell cover make sure no damage to it. Also appears to have some scratches in the second set of pictures, may be able to use them to get it down a little more. Looks like after market shifter **** also so just make sure there is no issue there. Other wise it appears OK.

Miles may be a little high but for the price it seems fair to me.The paint looks a little rough but a true professional detailer can correct the paint and the headlight lens scratching. I did notice some road rash on the front bumper cover but you can have the cover painted for three or four hundred dollars and it will look like new. Check the CarFax and make sure the title is clean. It is a great idea to have someone that is familiar with the C-6 to look at the car and give an honest opinion.

For a couple of grand more you could get one with a lot less miles.

I have a 2007. What I see: That grill isn't stock. If the headlights are pitted like that, I would guess there already has been a lot of buffing done on the front to get pits out of it. The paint is clear coated, the clear coat probably is gone on the nose where it has been buffed. In one of the pictures I see one of those transparent nose guards in the picture. This might have kept the pits out of the front paint if it is all over the nose. I would check carefully to see if it has been hit in the front.

Just have a look around at a few of them before you take your decision and sleep it over once you think you made your decision.
I just bought mine last thursday after seeing about 15 vettes. Saw some pretty good one's and some really scary one's (2005 700bhp c6 italian owned you know i'm talking about you).
Don't let yourself caught in the excitement of wanting one quick. (I started looking in Feb). Take your time.
Good luck. The car is a breath of fresh air in my life.
Haters gonna hate though ;-)

Thank you all for your opinions. Slept on it and I still have to think it through. I'm just in a bit of a time-crunch to find a new car, which isn't the best situation. There is an 05 with similar miles for 22k, but i'll have to look at that one too.

It can be nerving to wait when you could be cruising in one of those badass cars. Just do your homework and have a look around. At least if you have a few options under your belt you won't feel sour if the guy doesn't give you the price you want.

I purchased my '07 in August '14. From the pics, it does not loot too bad. He could have easily scraped a curb or three with the front (from the pics) Aftermarket grill and different Short shift installed. Otherwise, does not look too bad.
I looked around for about 5 months before I finally found what I really wanted. There were quite a few that I liked, but for 1 reason or another I passed.
What's the interior really look like? hard to tell from the pics so far...
One thing to consider - you can probably find one in the color you want, with the options you want with less miles for just a few $$ more if you are able to remain patient. It's not easy to do, as the longer you look the more patience seems to disappear...
The price does seem very reasonable. If this has everything you want and it checks out mechanically and you can get in a decent test drive (or someone you trust can...)

I'm thinking your $21K is high. My check of Edmunds assuming it is not a Z51 or F55 but is 3LT comes up with a private party sale price of $18.7K. Dealer retail is $21K.

Corvettes don't dent silly. They crack.
In all seriousness, while the price is the price, I might look for one with zero mods that is cleaner. What FortMorganAl says is all true. Tires will be an immediate cost and if they are worn, necessary if you plan to do any driving in the rain. Clean, lower milage Vettes are out there. I just bought an 08 with 12K miles on it. I paid top dollar but the car looked like new.
