Default Scratches on "carbon fiber" console

I was cleaning the interior today and noticed some minor scratches on the "carbon fiber" console next to the cup holder. Has anyone have any suggestion on what works best on this.

Thanks

Not that it matters, but GM refers to the pattern on the '08 and later console trim plates as either "cyber" or "bias" depending on the year and trim level.

I successfully removed some light scratches on my '08 "cyber" pattern center console trim panel using Meguiar's # 105 Ultimate Cut Compound. This stuff is designed to remove light scratches and swirl marks from the exterior clear top coat of a vehicle. As it is not designed to be used on interior trim, be careful about getting too aggressive with it.

Adam's Polishes sells Revive Polish which works great on fine scratches. Been using it for years.

Treat the CF console like the exterior paint. Use a light polishing compound to remove the scratching. If you can hook your fingernail in a scratch you most likely will not be able to remove it with polishing. Begin with a light polishing product and then go to a heavier if necessary. I have no idea how thick the clearcoat is on the console so don't get too aggressive. I have used an air polisher on console scratches with no burn of clearcoat damage so it may be similar the the body clearcoat, just be careful.

I did the same on my GS and used it with my PC 7424. Came out perfect, not a scratch or swirl to be found.

It's good to know that you were able to use your da polisher and obtain good results. Even though I do have a da polisher, I did mine by hand as I was afraid to use it for fear of a burn through.

Why do we think there's clear coat on that center console facia? It's just a piece of cast plastic, isn't it? Buffing with any compound is likely to leave a slightly dull spot. You've got to decide if the scratches are less offensive than a dull area would be.
