Default Engine dressup ideas?

I have an 07 z51 in montery Red that i am working on dressing up the engine compartment,As you can see in the pics i have a ways to go yet. Looking for ideas on what to use on the rest of the area wther to use Stainless or painted or a combo of the 2 which is the way i am leaning right now, I already know what i am gonna do with the hood liner pad.
So lets see some pics of what you all have done and any ideas you might have.

Thanks all

Lesson I learned the hard way.............stainless SCRATCHES, spend the money and invest in chrome. You have enough red in there, so go with a chrome cowl insert, chrome hood struts and maybe the chrome radiator cover. Slap a chrome emblem on the air scoop and call it a day. Should look killer. Your car looks great so far.

ehhhh sometimes less is more, it looks nice and classy right now, I'd really struggle with the idea of adding anything else.

I like what you have so far. I think the hood pad will finish it off nicely.

In my eyes that's already far too much. I'd say leave it alone.

I also have a Monterey Red '07 and I have mine engine dressed. You may find that you can go overboard with it and to much red will all of a sudden be overpowering.

Here is what i have done so far. I kind of like the mix of carbon fiber and painted parts with a little chrome. The stainless looks good but as mentioned it does scratch easy.

This is my C5 engine bay

Please paint the oil dipstick top. Make it black, silver or MR but the yellow spoils the other hardware.

I agree, I have a chrome on on the C6 and the C5 is painted in the Torch Red.

Looks good like it is. Maybe something with the radiator support to break up the black in front? That is an easy swap. I have done a lot of different things over the years. This time I went with the carbon fiber look.

I think you have enough. Change out the dipstick. Get a subtle something on the pad so it does not detract from the engine. There is enough going on in there now.

I agree with the others. Less is sometimes better. I like what you have done. Don't over do it.

Since this thread was originally started in March of 2015, the OP likely has completed the engine bay.
It would be great to see an update since the thread was revived from the achives.
