How many c6 owners in their 20s?

I'm 29 now, but got my 2009 Z06 at 27. Always been a GM fan and owned all GM cars, but have always dreamed of getting a C6Z since I saw one at a car show 8 years ago. Set a goal to get a C6Z by the age of 25, but decided to go more practical and DD a V2 CTS-V for a couple years. Now I'm fortunate to DD a more practical Cruze and enjoy the warmer months in the Z.
The C7 styling is growing on me, but I've always been in love with the C6 styling. I rented a C7 for a weekend and even though it was a very impressive step up from the C6 in many aspects (mainly interior), I could not justify getting a C7 when the C6ZR1 can be had for about the same price. The only thing I would hold out for is a C7Z, but still don't know if I'd give up the NA 427 experience. I'll keep enjoying the warm months with my 09 in the meantime!

There are a number of young guys under 35 on this thread, which is unusual for these forums.
It's perfect because I have a question that can only be answered by young guys under 35.
G.M. has made it very clear that they completely redesigned the look of the C7 because they wanted the 'vette to appeal to a much younger demographic.
Predominately under 35, to stimulate sales, and promote the brand.
Here's part one of my question...
Assuming that you can comfortably afford a new C7, say around $62,000 out the door, would you buy one?
Part two...
If you did buy one, would it be simply because you want a new Corvette, or because you're attracted by the new styling?
Thanks...

I am in Oklahoma City as well. Send me a DM if you want to go cruise sometime after this crappy weather decides to go away. I have two other friends with Corvettes who are in their 20's as well. One owns a 2007 Lemans Blue Z06 and the other owns a 2003 50th Anniversary Millennium Yellow Z06. They live here in the metro area as well.

I forgot all about my love of Corvettes during my 20's while I was working my booty off with my business. Could have had the opportunity by 23 or 24ish when money was coming in and I didn't have a care in the world. As it stands, I finally got a Corvette when I was 32. I technically owned a 67 Corvette rust bucket that didn't run and was a restoration project but I lost focus and money was tight then. Had a 1994 admiral blue ZR1 that was another resto project (wrecked) but got an offer to sell at more than I paid and that was that.
as far as the new Corvettes, I love everything about them. I do wish 500+ hp for the base had been in the cards, but that's my only minor gripe. Styling, technology, everything is sweet in my eyes.

[QUOTE=cthompson07;1589011579]I just bought mine in October. I'm 25. I also own a 00 camaro and 91 mr2.
Definitely didn't want a c5 when I started looking and I got a great deal on this. $23k, had longtubes, can, supporting mods. Only other plans right now are some new headlight lenses and to paint the bezels. Made 440rwhp and 407tq.
I'm a production technician for a CNC manufacturer, I make about $42k before overtime, usually I work at least 8 hours over every week.
I bought my first Vette when i was 18. It was a 99 C5, i loved that car. Now that i have moved on to a C6 i can say I'm happy where i stand. I'm only 23 Years old with a 2012 Camaro and a 2008 Corvette Vert.

Purely in terms of looks, I don't think any generation of vette looks bad, some generations just look better than others, I would rank them, from best to meh.
1-Early model C3
2-Wide body C6
3-C5 Z06
4-C7/Z06
5-C2
6-C1
7-C4
The C7 definitely has the "cool" factor on the looks department, the most aggressive looking corvette, its very different from the C6. But will it still look "cool" 10 or 20 yrs down the road? I feel that the more traditional shapes of the C5 and C6 will age better long term compared to the C7. The C3 is the best looking to me because it strikes a good balance between aggressive and smooth lines, unlike the C7 which many aspects of the design almost seems forced, by going for the all aggressive look.
The reason I was attracted to the Z06 is the whole design philosophy of a light weight, rigid body, NA V8 track car. Most of that has been lost in the new C7 ZR1 called Z06. Weight and having a NA engine is a big deal to me, not so much looks, which makes me in the minority, so I will be looking elsewhere when/if I am ready to move on from the C6Z.

I'm 25 and on my 4th Corvette. Purchased my first one at 19, and yes with my own money. I currently own 2 vettes, C6 and a C3. I'm around Bowling Green, KY if any of you guys ever make it around.

Kentucky in the summer/spring time! What part of the state are you from treydogg? I'm in Lexington. About to get a C7 delivery from Dan Cummins.
And nice "other toys"! I think we share the same ideals. Looks like you're making good life decisions!

Currently 29, bought my 09' coupe at 25. I think my user name explains what I do.
I think Crabbers and AlphaKing both hit the nail on the head with the C7. The new style is growing on me but at that price point I would be all over a C6 ZR1 like Crabbers. I'm not a C6 fanboy either, I would gladly part with my car for the right corvette, be it the C7 Z06 (which I agree with AlphaKing is tempting) or new iteration of the ZR1. I like all high performance and exotic cars be it P-cars, lambos, etc. As porky and ugly as it may be there's even a special place in my heart for the Hellkitty.
Until the right vette comes along I may just upgrade to a C6 Z06 to hold me over until then.

Melting Slicks
I just miss the cut off..ha!
I was 30 years old when I picked up my 2005 C6, but of course this would have been my 3rd sports car.
I don't know about the people in their 20's now, but when I was 23 (when I got my first sports car) I don't think I had any business owning one. It was a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, 350 HP twin turbo and looking back, I don't know how I never crashed it or hurt someone. I was very arrogant thinking I was such a great driver and I don’t think I respected the power. It wasn’t until I decided to learn autocrossing (in my 30’s) that I then knew what it meant to have control of a car.
For those that haven’t auto-x’ed before, I suggest you check it out. Not only will you learn to handle your car better, it is tons of fun. The drawback is you will probably need new tires sooner.
