There is a whistling noise coming from the engine bay that I can hear when driving city streets around 1000 rpm both under light acceleration and when coasting. It's not a big deal, but it's there.
Anybody have this happen with your C6? My car is a 2006 stock coupe, no engine mods, just have Corsa x-pipe and exhaust.
Any and all responses appreciated.

Actually could be a few things. Need to get under and check. I know its not the best answer but hard to diagnose without seeing it, hearing it.
Is there a hidden supercharger?

No, no supercharger. It is hard to describe....but it's like there a little person hiding under the hood that decides to let out a whistle when the rpm's are right around 1000 and I'm driving under 30 mph or so whether accelerating or slowing down.
Seems to be right in front of me in that engine bay. Are there any hoses I should be looking at that might be loose?

No varraram cold air. Everything under the hood is bone stock.
Thanks all for the suggestions...keep 'em coming.

Mine has the same thing...here is what you do.
Go get about 2 to 3 feet of plastic tubing and use it like a stethoscope.
Have someone rev the and listen around.....
I just did it and it was my alternator.
My 2008 did it too so I am guessing its your alternator too....tiny whistle a bit of a rev goes up in volume than goes back down in idle but is still present...right?

if you didn't have the noise before it could be the alternator on the way out...but if you have been driving for the past few days then it probably would have died by now

It's not a major thing, not even a bothersome annoyance, it's so slight.. But if there's a fix, I'd be interested in it. Car only has 36,4xx miles on it. I've had it 3 years...bought it from a guy who only put 7,500 miles on it on 6 years.

It's been doing it a long time...probably a year or more and the alternator has been working just fine. I'm just now deciding to see what the possible cause of that noise could be.
