Default Parade Car

I have been asked to use my C6 Vert as a parade car to carry the queen of the event. I have lead time and have not agreed or rejected the request. My question? Is the tonneau cover on the C6 strong enough to support the weight of someone set on it for a parade? Is this a bad idea? Has someone done this? I have used other converts for this task, but they were four seat and had a soft tonneau cover. Opinions and advice. Thanks, JDA

I'd do it. But you will get a lot of members warning you against it.

If you do it, make sure there is something put down to protect the paint, but that is not slippery. Make sure it is big enough, so that no sequins or zippers touch the paint. Have her wear flats (or go barefoot) not heels, too.

I've done it. No problems. She looked like a princess.

I hope your car is automatic. Parades will kill your left leg.

I have done it with the 69, the 99 and the 13 GS. No problem as long as the Queen is not on the hefty side. If she is then she would have to sit in the seat. I use a soft blanket so it drapes down over the waterfall and she has to take her shoes off. Have at least two parades scheduled for this summer. One on the 4th of July where I carry Miss Lincoln University and one the second weekend of June where I carry one of the contestants in the Miss Teen Missouri pageant.

Default Good to go

Had Santa on my 2007 VR vert. Worked out fine.
Put a blanket on the tonneau and covered the waterfall.
Biggest issue is to not let anyone step on the console!
Good luck. Great experience. The car becomes the center of attention.

The deciding factor is this...is she good looking?

I've done it several times, with my Red 89 vert, and my yellow 02 vert. No problems. I bought and used a bathroom rug with the soft rubber backing (same color as the car) and it worked well. Also put blanket on the seat. Have fun.

I've done it two years in a row for the local highschool home coming game where the home coming court is paraded around the football field. I typically get the 200+ pound line backer and his escort. The biggest thing for me was having a towel on the tonneau cover and a pretty thick towel on the passenger seat since the football players had their cleats on. I've never had any issue and it's always a fun time. The kids love it.

Do it, you'll enjoy it.

Tonneau cover would never support those.

OP, do it.
Be a lot of fun riding around with a cutie while you get to show off another beauty.

Or inadvertently eject her out the rear!

I have done a lot of parades.. Mostly for Nascar and Indy Races.... You wont have a problem. Before my first one many moons ago I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and bought a black padded cabinet liner and a black Towel. The padded liner kind of sticks to the car and the towel hugs it so it doesn't move....I tuck the back part of the towel on the back side of the cover when I shut my trunk and then tuck the front part of the towel in and around the front part of the cover and on the sides of the waterfall...

Have fun... You will be fine.

Yes, that what I was saying about the non slippery surface to plant her on.

Obviously, no sequins in your parades!
