Just bought 05 c6 a4 thoughts please!
As title states. Just bought a beautiful 05 Lemans blue c6 a4. Car is in absolutly perfect condition! It does however have 102,000 miles. This doesnt concern me much as, Im new to the vette but not the ls series of motors. As I stated its in great shape has hud, navigation and all the goodies both the painted body top and glass top. I purchased this car for 17k which I believe is a fairly good deal considering how well taken care of and how nice the car is. Just kind of curious as to what to look out for mechanically is there a common problem or anything? Car runs and drives great, oil pressure and temp seems to be where it should once warmed, same with transmission temp and coolant temp. It currently has a varram cai and has borla cat back exhaust. I plan on putting long tubes a fast and good dyno tune on before too long. With the mods that I listed is there anything I need/should do to the tranny to support or will it be fine factory? I am going to have the fluid changed just to get the car on my own mait. schedule. Other then that LOVE my first corvette so far caint wait till spring to drive the darn thing!!

I'd think that at that mileage all of the little problems common to the
'05 would have been addressed or will not occur. I had the A4 in a C5 and thought it was a very good tranny.

I'm new here too but think that any car which has 100k miles on the clock has had any of the pending issues shaken out and addressed. When shopping for my C6, I test drove a C5 with 130k on the clock and it seemed solid so I think miles isn't much of an issue assuming it's not beat. I can't see a hard run car making it to that miles so you're likely safe.
That said, there has to be some goodly wear on the engine. I"d be leery of many power enhancing mods, but that's me.

Welcome to the 05 crew. We are the most hated belittled group of corvette owners next to the C4 guys. I've never had a problem with mine, it has half your miles, but it's been a great car and a pleasure to drive. I love it despite all the negativity you hear on this site about it.

Congrats; I have an 05 LeMans Blue vert. I agree with an earlier post that by now, if the car had any issues they would have been addressed. Get a lot of compliments on the color.
Also there is a recall issue associated with a "headlight wire" which may present a problem. This problem was announced about a year ago but GM just recently had the replacement part available so I would contact your nearest Chevy dealer and investigate.
just waiting to take my vert of of storage to get this done
However, I would change ALL of the fluids at your earliest convenience.
Good luck

I just got an 05 as well, first thing I did was put in a column lock bypass. Their great cars and you can find some fantastic deals on the 05's, perfect for if you're planning to build it anyway.

Yeah was kind of wondering why everyone hates the 05 so much? I am currently getting all fluids and maintenance on my schedule and taking g it to dealer for headlight fix in a couple weeks. I'll post pics if someone can tell me how lol I'm a noob on here. I am curious as to why you wouldn't do just bolt on mods because the car has 100k on it? You see ls series trucks with well over 200k on them with the mods list I have planned out without any I'll affecs, these motors are very strong and durable if a 4.8l half ton long bed with 220k miles on it can Last another 50k miles over that with a t76 turbo and bone stock motor other wise, make 500+ horsepower buddy's truck" then I should have 0 problems I would think!

Welcome the the 05 gang. Love mine and 05's do not have any more issues than following years do (maybe different ones).... don't let anyone scare you, including Mr.Nubain: We're not really hated, we only make a bunch here jealous for having the same car they own, for a fraction of the price.

Beautiful car. Looks like it was loved by the previous owner.
I have a 2007 and have no experience in or around a 2005. I would imagine most of the people who say stay away from the 2005 have never even been in one. All cars have some inherent quirks and problems and the first C6's are no exception. Same can be said about every other Year C6.
Start a thread asking 2005 owners how they like their car and I'll bet most love it.
