Hood liner pad
Hey guys
I am wanting to have my hood liner pad air brushed. I lice in SW missouri very close to Springfield. I haven't found any 1 that does that sort of thing around here. Any 1 know of any 1 in the area or close by even.. Worst case is i would have to ship it some where if any 1 knows some body who does really nice work.
Here's hoping some 1 has a lead or 2
Thanks
JIM

Steve Ray & Nathan Woosley of Airbrush Inc have done probably thousands, and many for members of this forum.
Their website shows many of their hoodpad designs.
They are not cheap, but their work speaks for itself.

I'd would think anyone who airbrushes could do it. I'd start calling paint shops and sometimes body shops have a good painter or know one. Motorcycle air brush guys would be good bc they are better usually with round surfaces and small areas

Most know that the hood pad has to be painted (soaked) a flat black on both sides and dried prior to any airbrushing. If not pre painted, then the air brush paint will be absorbed by the pad, and not lay well.

I'm in line for steve at airbrush designs myself, not sure if its him or not but one of the guys there has a Chevrolet emblem tattooed on the back of his head. He can also supply a new liner so you can keep yours to go back to stock and avoid the need to try and mail yours to him, pretty cool system he's got set up. He had 29 to do before mine lol

For the OP (Jim H), here's a sample of Steve's work to show some of the minute detail he is capable of....if you look closely, you will notice that the stars appear as individual stitches...not to mention the lettering...
I think I will have him do the alternative to this side of Mount Rushmore for my next Vette hood liner...with his usual detail...

You have one of the best Air Brush painters right in Nixa. Go to Curry's in Nixa, close to Car-Fi. You may have to wait a couple months but he is good. He did my C5 and it turned out great.
