Wife Problem....She Wants MY Vette!
I have been lurking on this forum for a couple years. Have been actively searching and saving for my dream car for 18 months. Long story short I found the perfect C6, brought it home. Got to drive it a few times and made the mistake of letting my wife drive....NOW she is telling me this is HER CAR and I need to go get another.
I found a 2008 with scantly over 20k miles, CAI, 102mm throttle body, Cat-back exhaust, Racing carpets, etc. It was everything I have been looking so long for. The gentleman that owned it babied the car. I don't think there is another this well-cared for - especially for under $30k BUT NOW I may be starting my search all over again!
That is why I am turning here to the forum members....how can I talk her out of my car OR talk her into getting another? She doesn't like silver anyway but that doesn't matter after she drove it. BTW, she used to race sport bikes with me in a 3 states, so she IS FAST! She used to beat most guys to the first turn, they would real her in after that but she garnered a lot of respect among the racers. She is smitten so I need to know an angle I can pursue to get her in another ride.
HELP!

ITS A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
Count your blessings buddy!
Just my guess but I'd say about 1/3-1/2 of all Corvettes are pampered, low mileage cars. It may take awhile and you may have to travel to get it but if you spend the time and make the effort you'll find a second, even better, perfect Vette.

Also, she did this to me with my R6 - except I was able to talk her into letting me find her another....she is NOT budging on the Vette tho!

I'd tell her that we can find one for you, in a color that you like. Simple as that!
You're a lucky guy to have a wife that wants her own and willing to let you have one for each of you. Count your blessings......oh and Merry Christmas!

When she said you should go get your own Vette, I fail to see what the problem is. I surely would be thinking that she's a keeper.

Now for a serious proposition. Explain to your wife that this is the car YOU spec'd for YOU and now it's time for you two to shop for the Vette spec'd for her. This gets your car back and gives her the thrill of the hunt / choice to get the color combo, etc. she wants.
If she ends up with a twin, no loss.

She "kind of liked the idea of Velo Yellow or Blue". She just wants to ensure her car has ALL the racing bits or no deal!
That's all I need - to get beat by a girl!
At least we are BOTH enjoying the drive and having FUN!
