Need opinions on license plate frames.
Only going to use one in the rear, but I don't want it to look tacky.
What do you guys think of this on a '08 LT3 CRM

Plates are painted right out to the edge and the corners are rounded. Why does this need covering up?

I wouldn't go that far... a license plate frame isn't stating the obvious like a windshield decal would be.. I'd say the frame is staying loyal to the uniqueness of the vette without going "ricer" (like the banner).

I'm more of a body colored tag frame fan.

OP if you don't want to appear "tacky" and really want a frame, I'd recommend a chrome or color matching frame that is simple and of clean design. Frankly, I prefer a bare plate.
License plates are tacky to begin with: don't make them more tacky.

I would go this route. Please not chrome or "CORVETTE", IMHO

Mine vet is silver, and with enough other black parts on the back of the car, just went down to Wal-mart to pick up a steel thin boarder black 2 bolt license frame and two Black mounting bolts (spent a whole $14 if I remember correctly, including the 2 black bolts).
Since I need to drive on base once in while, and they require a front plate, broke down and spent the big bucks on the front air dam type placement mount to mount the front plate there (guards can see it as I am pulling up to the gate, and don't get flack for not having a front plate.

Same here on my GS, it indicates a certain model and see nothing cheesy about that, I've always put license plate frames on every car I've ever owned, looks unfinished IMHO.
Now the replication of the flags in-between the exhaust pipes is not for me, if I do something there it will be a black filler plate.
But hey, if it floats your boat then that's all that matters right ?
Peace, NSF
