Has the C7 Grown on Everyone Except Me?

It's not for you but with 37K in production yr 1 it's a hit.

I like it better now than when it came out, but am saving for a cherry late model C1 or C2 and would prefer to use extra money on that. However, I would also consider swapping my 08 for a 427 before getting a C7. If I win the lottery then I will be starting a fleet.

Don't like the location of the side reflectors, they look out of place, especially the one on the lip of the front fender. The cockpit has gotten smaller, not too happy with that.
The busy rear end only looks good in dark colors, imo, and if I bought one it would be NRB.
DO love the new ZO6 though it's out of my price range.

Well, for all the hype that surrounded it that number is definitely underwhelming!! It's actually a little less the what the c6 did in it's first year.GM included all the Vettes in their first year tally, meaning those pre launch cars and like that. It's no different then any prior 1st year VETTE.

Looking up the sales figures it seems first year C6, 2005 model year sold 33.5K less than the last year of the C4 with 35.8k.. While C7 sales might not seem great compared to those two numbers, 30k through October, should hit 35k by the end of the year, compared to the last year of the C6 with 17.5k it is a vast improvement.
It’s not that the number set a record for Corvette production. Far from it as it actually hits the top sales by model year chart at #14. But it is the 3rd best production number in the modern era (since 1985′s 39,729) with only 2005 (37,372) and 2007 (40,561) having greater totals.
Think about where we were following the carpocalypse of 2008-09 when Corvette sales fell to the low teens and stayed there through the final years of C6 production. And then there were rumors of Corvettes possible demise during GM’s bankruptcy. Fast forward to the 2014 Corvette and there’s a renewed sense of enthusiasm and confidence coming from all corners for America’s favorite sports car and that’s translating into the strongest sales in years.
So what’s the breakdown of production during 2014 with the different colors and options? Here’s some interesting stats and then we’ll get to the numbers. First the Z51 models accounted for 56% of Corvettes ordered and Z51s with Magnetic Selective Ride Control clocked in at 36%. Corvettes sold with the 6-speed automatic accounted for 65% of all Stingrays vs 35% who still went for the 7-Speed manual. Arctic White went from being a traditional mid-level color choice all the way up to number 2, beating Black which was a perennial favorite during the C6 generation. And finally, the Q7T Black Wheels option for Z51s sold well with the option accounting for nearly half of all Z51 Corvettes (48%).

There is no right or wrong answer--it is just a matter of what someone prefers---chocolate ice-cream or chocolate chip------and in some cases we change our minds back and forth from day-to day. I happen to love the look of the C7. I almost bought one about 10 days ago, but since I also love my 427 (less than 2 years old; only 6,500 miles on it; 505 HP; limited production car; 60th year corvette) the deal had to be just right. I am 6' 4", 210 pounds (today), and the fit is OK---seems a little tighter than the C6, but all interior measurements we took of the two cars are almost identical. We think it is the fact the C7 seats that 'hug' you (in a nice way), and the fancy cluster gauges make it an optical illusion----just our guess.
My deal wasn't perfect, so I took a pass with all thing considered. The C7 OEM tires can't be driven on when the temperatures drop to 40 or below (salesman at a very sizable dealer told me in his training classes it was emphasized that the sidewalls can crack if driven in the cold weather). So, I wanted to trade out the OEM tires for all season tires. The dealer wanted $1,600---and wouldn't negotiate---- that was the deal breaker for me. I drive my car in the cold, not a lot, but when the roads are free of salt and sand a bunch of us will cruise for breakfast or lunch in the dead of the winter. And I just can't bring myself to buy a brand new car, and spend another $1,600 for tires so I can drive it for the next several months. Heck, with the OEM's I wouldn't even be able to test drive it when I got it home until late March. As a result, between the orange peel paint (still ot 100% sure this wouldn't end up bugging me), and the OEM tires, I decided not to purchase the C7----but I still think they are great looking cars that have the performance of the C6 ZO6 for the most part (3.7 or 3.8, 0-60; 11.7 or 11.8 quarter mile). Fantastic cars.....and they have an excellent back-up camera.

The C-7 leans a little on the "Transformer" platform to me, dont know if I like it or not, maybe a little too many sharp angles or something. I'm sure it will grow on me but for now my 2011 GS rules

I like the widebody look of the C7 Z but still don't like the rear, keep trying but I hate the way the lights point upward & the black Alice Cooper mascara pointing downward is flat out ugly. I'm keeping my 13GS for a long long time. That's the beauty of having 7 generations, something for everyone to like...

Has it grown on me? Absolutely....If I was inclined... I'd sell my Grand Sport in a heartbeat to purchase a C7 and never look back.....just like I've done with the other Vettes I've owned.

People keep acting as if it's an either/or question. If you like one generation, doesn't mean you hate the other one. It IS possible to like both.

I have to admit, as much as I like my '13 GS, if someone came along and offered me $10k or $15k more than it was worth, I'd leave skid marks getting to the title.
As much as I enjoy that car, it is, after all, just a car. I can always get another.

Chevy did a great promo job on a great car. Dealer says he cannot keep them on the lot. I'll get one after the bugs get sorted out. Too many sensors, somethings gotta break big time.

They have NOT grown on me yet either! (look like a camaro) I have two friend that own them but when I park my Z06 next to them, mine is WAY BETTER LOOKING!!! To each their own, but I will keep my C6.
