Default What OEM GM Parts Source Is Cheapest?

Since Gene Cully is no longer around I was wondering who the latest and greatest OEM GM parts supplier is that has the best prices.

I recently used gmpartsnow.dotcom

They were very fast and the flat rate $8 shipping is a nice touch.

Its Berber Chevy in Michigan running it.

I have bought from GMPartsDirect.com, a CF vendor, several times. They seem to be competitive and I have never had an issue buying from them

I have found it varies based on what you are buying - no 1 vendor is consistently cheaper. Like the song says 'you gotta shop around'.

Amazon has a lot of parts and is far cheaper than the online GM parts places. Check there first!

Thanks for that tip on GMPARTSDIRECT.....I just went there and like what I found...one of the items I'm looking for is a OEM rear wide body conversion kit and they have the whole kit for the same as what Gene was selling for I believe.. I also asked my local dealer for pricing and I'm still waiting for that.

Seeing that I am a prime member I do usually check with them first. They don't have the items I'm looking for though.

Gmpartsdirect has good prices but sometimes crazy high shipping and slow customer service.

Look at the total price to your door! Gmpartsdirect will usually be the cheapest even with their higher shipping costs.

The total price is why I started using GMparthouse. GMpartsdirect was better for a few things but overall I found better when comparing.

Rockauto.com has many OEM delco/GM parts listed. Very competitive pricing and quick shipping. Customer care has been very good also.

Thanks for the heads up. I just went there and tried to check shipping on rear wide body conversion kit. It doesn't give you shipping costs prior to having to put in credit card info. I then sent a message to customer service for shipping costs. The cost of kit is great but could be a deal breaker if shipping is outrageous.

GMPARTSHOUSE are gone for now. I emailed Patrick Trageser a week or so ago and he said

"Effective the first we were no longer affiliated with Patriot. I can say we will be back shortly just finalizing all our new arrangements which should not be too much longer then we will be back to business. I can contact you at that time and will gladly take care of this for you

Took me month to get my parts and my $800+ dollar refund for my erroneous second charge when purchased through GMParthouse. They took my order just two days before they desolved their relationship with Patriot. I would rather pay more money than chance going through that again.

That really hurts!! I had always heard good things about them and surprising they would do that.

I think they started at Fred Beans, then to Patriot, had no idea there was another change.

I've found most local dealers will offer wholesale pricing now that it's so common on the net.

I was hoping for that but I am finding them to be rather unresponsive. I called and emailed several times last week with no response yet.

I had great luck with GMPartsDirect the first time I bought from them, the last time I received customer service a little worse than what I typically am used to getting at fast food restaurants. I ordered differential fluid and received a fuel injector harness and some other related parts worth a few hundred dollars about 2 weeks after placing the order and it was like they were doing me a favor by sending me a return label- no attempt to get me the correct items I ordered in a faster manner or anything remotely resembling customer service.

http://www.cheapestgmparts.com was WAY better to deal with after I returned the incorrect box of parts GMPD sent me, it does pay to shop some of these guys and find one close to you since shipping can be a deal breaker.

i recently bought a Vss Speed sensor from GMparts direct the local Chevy dealer was $78.00 GMpartsdirect was $33.00 with a $12.00 shipping fee, even though shipping was high, still $30.00 cheaper than Chevy for the same part. i usually would have bought from Gene also.

Check with Ken Fichtner. He sold the dealership to Rimrock but is still working there as General Manager and offering special prices on parts. Before Gene came along I bought a fair amount of C5 stuff from Ken.
