I plan to go wide body with my base 05 an not to be a poser but because im going with bigger wider wheels. I don't need any gs z06 or zr1 badges my car is already camed an supercharged putting down over 600 rwh. i plan to go with kompression wheels 20x13 rear an 19 in the front. im not tryin to look like a gs z06 or zr1 im tryin to look better. lol

I did it my way, not to be a poser but because I think it just looks better. No badges for me and a smile comes to my face every time I drive/look at it.
It has also been a lot of fun doing it over the years.......but my wallet hurts.
Someday I may add more power, but it has more than I can realistically use right now.

I guess I'm a pretender. I had front and rear wide GS body package added to my '05 convertible. I fell in love with the GS the moment I seen it. I could have sold my vette and purchased a GS, but I did not want to sell my car. It has become like a member of the family. I decided to go with the package. I really didn't mind if it had badges or not, but when I seen them on the car, I liked them. I know the car is not truly a GS and I tell everyone that look at the car that I added a package and it's not original. I just like the look. Sorry if anyone is offended.

exceptionally nice paintwork.conversion looks great.people have been body modding vetts since thier inception. Why they are now called "posers" is beyond me! Sticking a giant hood/scoop on your car w/ nothing underneath was refered to as a "pretender"back in the days.

I also think that Entaille has a beautiful white coupe. I like his contrasting spoiler too.

All i see is some good looking cars.
Am i a poser if i chose to change the way my car looks? Am i a poser if i add a blower to a base?
Hell no. I made my car fit me. If you don't like it, pound sand. This comes from an unmoded base vert with an UN moded ram sport.

I'm with you, but call me crazy I love the standard fenders. When you lower it and put the proper offset wheels even vette owners have to look twice to see its not a GS or Z06. I'm running a 285 front and 305 rear under the narrow fenders so I have even less reason to spend $5K.

If it isn't an engine mod, I'm not having it. I think a lot of the conversions look like one of those Fast and Furious kit cars and look cheap and ridiculous. HOWEVER, there are a few that look really good, but they went all out and didn't spare any expense and modified the engine as well. After all the $$ they invested they could have bought a Z or a new GS, but obviously it did matter (which is pretty cool, because I got nothing!) To each there own, like all hobbies. I just like engine mods, I'm not a fan of exterior mods because I think these cars come nearly perfect from the factory.

It would only be a poser to me if the owner tried to sell it while passing it off as a Z06 or GS. Otherwise, a car you own is yours to do with as you please, and if you want to make it look different, throw a different motor in it, whatever, that is up to you. I see clone cars at car shows all of the time, and they still look cool to me.

went to a show the other day and there was a 06 vette with the wide front and rear fenders. No Z06/GS front bumper. Hood was up and of course it had a stock LS2,no mods of any kind. I didn't like it and I'm not sure why cause I love the Z06 and GS bodies. It just seemed to be a poser. None of the goodies that come with the Z06/GS. A fair amount of cash was spent to make it kind of like something it wasn't and that is what bugged me I guess. Of course only vette people would even notice the changes. Anyway, I am curious what others views and opinions on this are. As always, its their car and they can do what they like. Just not for me. Let me know what you think.
